It's early in the 1st half, but figured I'd throw this out there for anyone who wants to discuss.

Towles definitely looks more polished than Barker. But Barker is gonna be a good one before it's all said and done. Phillips hasn't looked back running with the 1s either. This is probably the first time in awhile I've felt pretty good about the QB position and depth.

Our RB are far and away our deepest position and the running game looks damn good. Heard's little dance down the sideline with his size was definitely a "Oh damn" moment. Jojo Kemp has looked quick and sharp. But I'm most excited seeing Clemons out there and healthy. I might get emotional if that kid makes it back after a knee injury AND the achilles injury. WR is hard to evaluate with so many guys out. They've been solid and I was pretty impressed not so much with Timmons' catching as his blocking.

The DLine has come out a little stale but Za'Darius just got his second tip of the day, only this time it converted into an INT. Almost a TD without spring game rules.

The secondary hasn't gotten much play. Had some good coverage on a couple deep balls, but it's been pretty quiet back there.

Heard Brown talk about how much improved Towles is over last year, stronger, a bit quicker on his feet, etc. Expect him to be the starter at this point.

He's looked good. Nothing flashy but not making mistakes either.

I don't keep up with UK FB near as much as I do basketball and obviously by my avi you can tell I follow LSU pretty close - especially since I live in Baton Rouge. I see you all looking at the QB job but what has Stoops brought out on the defensive side of the ball? I figured that would be his strong suit and that would be key to the Cats getting competitive again. As I have seen for many yrs in BTR you can win a lot of games with half an offense if you have a ball buster defense... If the defense can get off the field regularly then the offense cant help but find an acorn every once in a while.

The Defense actually looked pretty bad in the game. The 2nd team O was moving the ball good against the 1st team D.

As far as what Stoops is doing for the defense. He's added alot of talent. Which after last year, it was obvious we were in dire need of playmakers on that side.
