I'm ready to go all in with the air raid. Maxwell Smith threw some nice deep balls last week. I know this will get us blown out of some games, but till the talent arrives on defense we are gonna have to try to hang a half a hundred on teams to win. Plus it's exciting football.

I didn't get a chance to watch your game last week. What offense is Stoops running?

FWIW, Neal Brown tends to run a more balanced "Air Raid" then what we saw under Leach the first time around. He was that way at Texas Tech as well. I don't forsee that changing much.

But to be frank, it doesn't matter what offense you put out there if your players can't execute it. I think at this point Max Smith gives them more of a chance to open it up. But they're still going to use our strength on offense which is RB at this point (in terms of experience especially).

I know it's exciting football, but I don't want to see them get away from their offensive philosophy just to keep the fans excited.

Agree completely Belle, I think a balanced effort is what is needed, and with the talent we will have coming in next year, it will be very fun to watch from a fan's perspective.

I realize its not gonna be the Mumme air raid, but there was hardly any passing at all during the WKU game. I'm not wanting Stoops to change his approach at all. The way he's recruiting will allow us to be more conventional in the future, but if we want to win games this year, we'll have to throw the ball often. Just my opinion.

I agree about throwing the ball more. The issue is going to be all season whether Smith can stay healthy enough to do it because Whitlow just doesn't sling the ball all that much.

ETA: FWIW, I do appreciate that they mixed it up more at QB this week. Give lots of looks and at the very least make it a little harder for teams to gameplan for you.
