AD vs. PPat for the tip

Intro video

Tonight’s attendance is 19,255. Not bad at all for a Monday night in September.

quote:

How appropriate is it that the Alumni Game ends with a “Go Big Blue” chant? Blue wins 111-95. John Wall led all scorers with 40 points, followed by Brandon Knight with 30, MKG with 26, Terrence Jones 22 and DeAndre Liggins and Patrick Patterson with 20 apiece.

That's a lot of talent and money on that court.

Have I mentioned lately how amazing it is to have Cal? Must be like having Saban at Bama.

I only wish Cal would convince some of these guys to stick around for a little longer.

Was awesome to hear about some of that older talent that was there. I'm old enough to remember Todd Svoboda. I actually have his autograph around here somewhere where him and some of the other guys like Gimel Martinez played in an exhibition at my high school.

Probably one of my best pieces of memorabilia I own is a basketball signed by the Pitino and the 96 team my mom gave me. I have grown to like it less because the Pitino signature takes up like a full panel of the ball.

Nice. In have some Cal and Tubby signed stuff but no Rick.

Only thing I wish they'd change about the alumni game is that they'd do it on the weekend. It's nearly impossible for me to get off work this time of year to go.

Our son got us a signed BBall from the 2012 team. They all signed it but Jones, and he said that Jones told him that his agent said to only sign when you get paid.

I love Big Cuz

quote:

At one point in the game, DeMarcus, disappointed in Patterson’s effort, walked over to the scorer’s table and asked for his stats. “Gimme Pat’s stats,” he told the statistician. “I’m about to take his arse out of the game.”

Great Jason Taylor pic. Patrick Patterson may always be one my favorite Cats. Was so excited when he committed. Wish he could've gotten a banner at UK.

Kidd-Gilchrist is up there for me too.

Agreed. The guy worked his absolute arse off under Billy G and I was so happy to see him achieve some success in Calipari's first year. I still think if Meeks stays that season they win it all. Hell if they don't go like 0-20 from 3 against WVU they probably win it all.

He may be my favorite. If you have HBO Go I'd highly suggest watching the documentary about him and his high school called a "Prayer for a Perfect Season."

John Wall is still easily my favorite to watch play though. He is just so damn entertaining to watch.

Tayshaun will always still be one of my all time favorites even if he continues to struggle a bit for the Grizzlies

I think my favorites of the Cal area are Davis/MKG/Wall/Cousins/Noel.

I'm so glad Patrick Patterson got one year with Cal just so his UK experience was worth his time. Very hard worker who didn't deserve the 2 years of BCG.

Watching highlights from that Alumni Game, it was just amazing to know how many 1st round picks were playing, and only from the last 3 years. Cal is amazing!

If I had to add 2 more it would have to be Knight and Jorts. We all seem to forget what that team accomplished by getting Kentucky out of the Final 4 drought.

I think the shot Knight hit against Ohio State in the NCAA tourney was big time.

I think the fact that Jorts will be on an NBA roster shows and Eloy Vargas is playing for an Olympic team (played some NBA Summer league) just shows that Cal develops talent along with bringing in tremendous players

He's one of the fastest kids I've ever seen in person on a basketball court. Clemente at Kansas State is up there as well.
