In addition to upvotes and downvotes, there should be a third option to assign Jackass points.
When a poster gets to 100 jackass points, he gets a 1 week ban.
When a poster gets to 100 jackass points, he gets a 1 week ban.

No. Just no.
Too many hypersensitive tools on here already take too much satisfaction in getting posters who cheer for different teams than they do banned. It's a game to some of them.
Some even create "bait" threads in hopes one of their e-enemies will slip up and make a banworthy comment.
All this would do is allow the likes of (insert poster's name here) to determine who can post and who can't by assigning "jackass points" every time someone he doesn't like posts... And yes, there was a name there when I wrote it initially.
Multiple people already abuse the RA feature that way and this would just give them more power to shape the demographics of the site to more mirror their own fan loyalties.

It would come down to who has the most fans. The smaller fan bases would just be gone simply for disagreements. Maybe that's your master plan?

That's a terrible idea. There are people that already go and downvote every post on team boards. Those people would be absolute hell if you gave them this power.

Neat, then there should be Whiney Bitch points. You can give Whiney Bitch points to Whiney Bitches, and they could get special Badges below their avatar for just how Whney a Bitch they are.
