Do comments to articles count toward post counts?

I like people to know how many times I said something on here; higher posts counts demand a little more respect. If the comments I've posted to articles haven't been added to my post count, I don't think my post count accurately reflects my TD/SECR prowess. I know a comment isn't your standard "post," but I feel like the effort that goes into making them and the quality of the comments oftentimes exceed a typical standard post on one of the boards, and therefore are worth every bit as a post, if not more.
Alternatively, we could add a comment count right under the post count instead of counting comments as posts. That would also solve this problem. Also, our post counts should be located under our name when we make comments to articles. A lot of work went into earning our post counts, and to take that badge off us simply because the venue changes from message board to Larry Leo article is a disservice.
