Chicken, why the oversight?

If content is not offensive and fits a boards intended topic genre, why does it matter what is being discussed?
Each user can choose to engage in the thread or ignore it, it's totally up to their free will. No one forces anyone to click on a topic. So unless it's offensive in nature, it shouldn't be an issue.
I see you're sporting the American flag and not a Chinese one... so I am confused by this type of Orwellian oversight. I would completely understand if something was offensive, not simply controversial.
I do understand this isn't my board, it's yours. You make the rules, I get that. I just fear you're guilty of being a hypocrite to your own beliefs by blocking a certain topic.
Thank you.
*I'm actually done with that topic anyway, there is no point in getting into that, a forum is a bad platform to have that argument anyway. I just thought it was funny that it's off limits (yet you support freedom).
