I prefer not to see avatars and I clicked to not see them in settings but they appear anyway. Any help would be appreciated.

Check your settings. Make sure hide avatars is turned on. There was a bug the other day and it should be fixed

You go turning the avatar on and you are asking for trouble. No need to let them pixels get horney in the first place.
If they are Asian avatars, that is how you computer gets the clap.
