I don't think I've made a Franks thread in like a few months. Maybe I did, but mostly it's people bitching about me that make the threads.

Franks was 19/29, so Straws has nothing to say.

Now, if he had been 14/29 with the exact same stats, we'd have to hear all about it.

Completion % is the most important stat in football, as we all know.

Oh man if you're that desperate I'll give you something:

6 points in three trips to the Red Zone.

A fumble where the defender didn't even touch the ball.

An interception in the Red Zone, throwing low and hard.

A near interception after making a good play.

I have no idea why Gators fans have chosen Franks to be their puppy, who can do no wrong. 19/29 is good, but it's not because he's making incredible plays. He continues to struggle with consistency, and doesn't seem to do well unless the entire team is performing around him -- the opposite of what you want from your QB.

I talked shite about Fromm all last year because that was his major fault, too. He has great numbers -- as long as he's comfortable. The problem, just like with Franks, is that when the team starts failing, he starts failing.

He had a good game, don't be a lil' bitch about it, because Franks still isn't the answer.

Promise me you'll make a post like this when we're 11-1 and playing in Atlanta.

Probably. Game 7 and Franks still isn't living up to his hype. I don't see anything changing going forward.

Tennessee State threw for 269 yards and 3 touchdowns against Vanderbilt. Franks was average, both of his touchdowns were short, sweet passes. A slant and a bubble screen.

But I'm giving credit where credit is due, it wasn't that bad of a game for him, he did his job for the most part. I won't say he did more than what was asked of him.

What hype? The he is decent enough to get us to a bowl game hype.

I was cussing Franks yesterday for the first half, but damn, for a guy that just got punched in the face he didn’t even flinch. By that I mean he didn’t hang his head he just kept fighting. I was really impressed at how he went and sat down on the bench to pump up Pierce right after he turned the ball over. Those are the intangibles that don’t show up on the stat sheets that motivate your entire team to mount a 34-6 comeback. IMHO Trask doesn’t possess these characteristics as well and is more prone to getting rattled in these types of games.

He has to sit down and comfort Pierce because he's literally the guy who has been doing it all year.

I understand, he has gumption, he has fight, he has a nice personality.

What he doesn't have are Quarterbacking skills. Not for the SEC. His team is performing extremely well around him, and it ties into my criticism of Fromm even from last year.

What we have is a Quarterback who needs things to be going well to do well, and this is not a good thing. We are going to have bad games on defense, we are going to have bad luck, but the problem is that when these things happen you need consistency which I feel like he's just never going to have.

There's no gray area. He either plays out of his mind, lights out good, or like complete dogshit. Like I said on his throw down the seam and then the throw directly after it right to the defender's hands (like three defenders): It's a microcosm of his year.

I'm not saying he didn't have a good second half, I'm not even saying he's a terrible Quarterback, I'm saying that he's not the answer for us going forward. We were just lucky that Vanderbilt doesn't have the depth we do, and our WRs and RBs are insanely talented.

If he pulls a game like that against UGA, we'll never get the game back. The defense had to play lights out for MSST and LSU because of it.
