Sorry guys, UGA has a QB now.

It's over.

UF is done after this year.

Kirby has more 5 stars as usual.

UF is losing almost everyone on offense.

It's over. Normalcy in the SEC East will resume next year.

(If you can't tell where this is coming from, you don't have a sense of humor.)

Against walkons lol

Wait to see the melt when they play a secondary they can’t just lob passes against

They are completely, utterly delusional without realizing what's starting to set up again. If JT Daniels goes down next week, or next year, they are once again in the exact same position as earlier this year.

The problem with Kirby is that he relies on other people to develop his Quarterbacks.

JT Daniels looks good because he went to a school where they actually taught him (HS and USC), but if you look at the others:

Bennett has terrible mechanics.
Mathis has them worse.

Bad footwork, bad release, stares the receivers down, can't read the defense, horrendous instincts which led to Mathis getting blasted twice.

I also predicted that Bennett wouldn't last the season because of his size.

They went into the fourth quarter tied with Mississippi State.

A MSST team that didn't even have enough players to meet the minimum threshold to cancel a game (but didn't on their own part), a team that lost to Kentucky 24 - 2.

He seriously reminds me so much of Muschamp that it's almost painful to vicariously live through Georgia fans watching the same thing, they say the exact same things from year to year.

"He just needs the right coordinator...the right QB...next year we'll improve..."

Monken is likely gone after this year, too, if Kirby running through coordinators the last few years was any indication. Monken might be a hot commodity if their offense really improves under JTD.

Does UGA have any QB prospects for the 2021 class?

This Pennywise lookin' dude.

I wasn't going to go through the whole thing, but just because you guys know I love QB talk (and, not to stroke my own ego but I've gotten it right a lot) I'd say that he's a serious project Quarterback.

HS highlights

I'll walk you through it:

Has the same awkward release as Bennett.
Footwork is some of the worst I've seen.
No touch on the ball, most of the passes are either bullets or floaters and hoping that his receiver can make a play on the ball, I saw one really good touch pass but not nearly enough.

Regarding the release, look at where the throw begins and where it ends in the highlights above, and then look at Bennett:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f7VlOW7xJk

It's basically the same release that starts at the hip and goes about 3/4 instead of where it should be leaving his hand. (This also makes it easier for defenders to break on your throws, which is why Bennett started to turn it over a lot more.)

Just for future reference: Franks passed for more yards in high school when comparing senior years and had a higher average rushing the ball.

Anyway, to not go too far into the weeds:

He is a project, like a big project. Super athletic but we've seen what happened to D'Wan Mathis (the most athletic QB at Georgia). I just don't think Kirby has shown that they can develop a guy even after having them with years in the system.

Brock would be a goldmine at Florida, but he shouldn't be starting a game until he's a junior and considering their track record with QBs I doubt he makes it that far.

Frankly, UGA's QB situation is one of the most interesting in football right now.

They have Bennett, Mathis, Beck, Daniels, and Vandagriff signed for next year.

Daniels theoretically, if he has 4 good-great games, could grab NFL attention, although these would be games against watered down defenses like Miss State this last weekend. South Carolina for example will be playing UGA without their 2 best DBs, which UF had to go up against earlier in the season, and they're playing the Gamecocks after Muschamp was fired.

Mathis and Beck have to almost be for certain transfer candidates after this year. I don't see either one playing another down for UGA unless injuries crop up.

So if Daniels comes back, they have Bennett who is physically limited, and Vandagriff backing him up, who has never played a down of CFB. Which is basically the same situation they had coming this year, except Newman was their supposed starter.

The odd thing about UGA's team next year, is that their offense "should" be mostly free of question marks, aside from their OL situation, which could be very interesting because they lose Cleveland, and have young guys coming into the rotation similar to what UF had in 2019.

UGA will have a ton of questions on defense because they lose Jordan Davis, Eric Stokes, Richard LeCounte, Tyson Campbell, and Monty Rice. If you've watched their backups play for LeCounte, Davis, and Rice (who has played on/off the last few weeks), they are not impressive at all.

So essentially what UGA could be looking like next year is a version of what UF has looked like in 2019/2020 under Trask. Which would be very odd to see, because I see UGA struggling to run the ball, which hasn't been an issue for them under Kirby.

the thing i don't get is that bennett looked like the next coming of fromm coming into the florida game and then completely shits the bed against our atrocious defense.

Nah, that was the Bama game. Bama had him figured out in the 2nd half.

Bennett, Mathis and Beck are probably all gone.

Bennett because he knows that he will never play another down at Georgia unless there's an injury.

I've heard a lot of rumblings that Beck is very unhappy with the situation -- honestly, let's say that he isn't that good. D'Wan and Mathis have been absolutely fricking terrible. And instead of playing him, the guy Kirby recruited, he puts in a questionable JT Daniels with a bad knee.

A lot of Dwag fans said that Kirby was showing off his recruiting chops in the transfer portal by bringing in two transfers but we all know that it was desperation.

They may literally be down to just: Daniels and Vandagriff next year in their QB room, and Vandagriff is more of a project than Del Rio and Richardson.

I think the biggest difference is that Georgia doesn't have the creativity on offense that Florida had these last few years. We know that Mullen is an offensive wizard, and the biggest difference is:

Can JT pass on teams that aren't a Mississippi State team that's effectively playing with what's close to an FCS team numbers wise and I'd even probably argue talent wise.

Similarly: I have to wonder how much longer it is until Monken gets a shot at HC. You can see that he knows what he's doing, but that's normally why you prefer to have a really good offensive HC rather than defensive.

If Monken were to leave, how absolutely fricked would Kirby be? He doesn't even have a QB coach (Dan fricking Mullen has a QB coach).

They are going to have problems for at least the next five years, even if JT works out. Imagine if he gets what Bennett got next year, even if it's just one game, they're back to stage 1.

Coaches won't say it, but we have probably had a pin in this game for the entire off-season.

That being said: Bennett is easy to scheme against, but the most important thing is to hit him. Not to injure him, but to rattle him. He's on the smaller side and getting a few good hits on him is sort of what happened to Mathis.

Mathis was a changed man when Bumper Pool smashed him in the Arkansas game.

This didn’t age well. Truth is we have a long ways to go before we are perennial favorites over them. I guarantee you they will be preseason top 5, and they will keep on recruiting.

We beat them in a down east season. We might win next year if they don’t find a QB.

Truth be told none of us can predict anything next year. It changes too much every year. My biggest concern is replacing Kyree Campbell and Slaton. Dexter will be much better as a soph (or he might have qualified as a redshirt?)but who joins him on the DL? Carter will be a senior and needs additional film to impress pro scouts....but he is a tweener unless he bulks up 15-20 lbs.

LBer is still a question mark and we need someone like Moon to use the gift year since he has already been r/sed once. We have Ventrell Miller who is a jr along with Houston and Burney but need guys like Wingo & Bogle to step up and an influx of young guys like Chief Borders. DBs we will have in truckloads. Speaking of DBs, lets hope Shawn Davis plays against Bama.

There is no team I wanna see us beat more than UGA. On offense we will have weapons Zipperer, Copeland, Shorter, Gamble, X Henderson and incoming frosh. OL we have Gouriage, White, Tarquin as part of the mix along with Reese (shudder), Braun and other sophs. I question our S&C program as to why our OL is weak ? Whoever is QB needs a pickett fence to be successful and to have a run game to make the load lighter throwing.

Our Offense is going to look a lot different next year. There will be a lot more QB power/RPO I believe. Also as I've mentioned before, our RB room will be LOADED. I hope the Oline gets mean and starts road grading.
