Hopefully we can run the ball. I don't think it matters much who is in there if Baugh is being completely shut down. Hopefully OK's offense is still a train wreck.

I think we got it, Baugh has to get somwthing going sooner or later, and Tramell will force the Okie defense to not overcommit to the run

Appreciate the shoutout

But in all seriousness, this is a good move by the staff. This is his team now. The team will play for him. If he wants to be the starter, then prove it. Run the RPO and let him have the ability to pull it and run. That'll help out Baugh a frick ton. Then it opens up the passing game. Get Wilson involved or else he'll start thinking about transferring. As long as we can stress out their defense by having to account for either the QB run, RB, or the option pass game. We should be able to see a productive offense.

Besides defenses tearing us up I am starting to wonder what is up with Baugh. It seems on a lot of plays he is too worried about popping a nice run taking it wide instead of getting what you can when the defense is containing that.

I think you are kidding yourself if you think the team will play better just because Jones is in there. We better hope the OK defense that played against SC (are they down due to no offense?) shows up this game or I highly doubt we do much on offense. If their earlier defense shows up I think we would have to win due to just being a little better than their train wreck of an offense or by turnovers.

He's been with the team since last year. That comeback against Texas showed they will fight till the end and in that 2nd half last week.

Time of possession will make the difference. Tire out their defense and we'll squeak out a win.

Believe what you want. Time will tell. That TX win imo was only because we had a little bit of a running game and the defense showed up. If we have no running game again like in our losses then OK likely will have to just play worse on offense than us. OK has a couple of players out in their secondary but I doubt we take advantage of that as much as SC did.

I look at the QBs as being very similar. I will pull for whoever the coaching staff runs on the field against Oky.

I think their Defense will come to play initially, but like last week vs SC if their Offense gets put in check theyll lose interest and open the flood gates late.

If we cant flex on a New QB / Playcaller, thats not good .

I wonder who the QB was in that game.

Don't see why we can't. I'm optimistic

Who was the QB when we had 2 great running games against SEC teams? What QBs played when we were totally ineffective with no running game against GA? - both of them. Maybe Jones surprises me and I will admit I was wrong if we beat Oklahoma with no running game and we actually had to score some to do it. Now a win where our offense isn't doing much but OKs is even worse I could see happening.

Ppl acting like Auburn and Ole Miss didnt happen with the offensive production we had in those games just cuz they like the new flavor of the week is pretty wild to me.

Both have had their ups and downs, especially in the games that the OL didnt bother to get off the bus.

Anyway..
GMFG

Yep hopefully we win the game. I really want Sumrall to start off 8-4 but 7-5 wouldnt be too bad considering last season as long as we do what needs to done in the offseason.

Defenses have obviously adjusted to play the run more aggressively and challenge the QB to throw it more. It has worked for our opponents

Maybe next time give Jones more first team reps to prepare against UGA instead of the pussy arse bitch.

I think the offense will be balanced on saturday.

I hope you are right about us running the ball this game. If we just have a workman like 4 yards per carry out of Baugh I don't think OK has hardly any chance to beat us in the Swamp. If yards are tough to get again I hope Baugh is more willing to turn up the field and take what is there even if it's just a 1 yard to 3 yard carry potential. Those zero yard carries are killing us.

Let's see who OU wants to stop. Tramell or Baugh.

You would think their priority would be to stop the run since we haven't done anything in the 3 games when the run game is shut down. As far as Jones running I am not sure how that will work out with RPOs. OK got embarrassed by Sellers running the ball and Underwood ran some on them but Jones isn't that level with his running ability.

Not like teams have loaded the box to stop our run, I'm sure they'll play their Base D until we force em out of it

Hopefully we get out of the sideways phonebooth offense we've been in lately, longest play the past few weeks has been 23 yards.

But at the same time, there is more film out there on Jones now, itll be interesting to see how teams adjust
