He is a big boy. Just cause he has QB by his name doesn't mean he is soft. He is bigger than our Wrs. He can handle a hit. He does need to lower pad level more but he has shown ability to bust open once or twice s game if the defense isn't ready for it.

We can agree on this, but being big doesn't mean you're physical. So far I haven't seen physical running from him, and he almost got injured the first game of the season for sliding a little too late. Now we're going against much more physical defenders, much stronger and faster. He needs to get those pads down and just get some easy yards and stop looking for the big play. (The reason behind most of his dancing.)

Straws..he is still growing into his body...6'6" and still a baby giraffe...but look at him compared to last year. He has picked up some valuable first downs this year running the ball and has thrown balls away instead of forcing it.

I bitched and bitched last year that he wasn't ready to play because he was so skinny...remember? His jersey was so loose on him. It wasn't his fault that Mac/Nuss threw him out there when Del Rio would have been a much better option.

I see our whole team growing before our eyes compared to last year...not just size...but the relationships and the excitement they show. Under Mac it wasn't there most of the time. I myself defended Mac because I defend HCs but I was wrong.

He did do some good things...but S&C was not one of them and getting the players to execute at peak levels was also not one of them. 2016 vs LSU was his one game where we went to red stick and refused to lose. But keep in mind in 2016 the defense was stout and were really Muschamps recruits.

I understand he is growing, but much like the HC job at Florida: It is not a place to learn on the job. He's getting better, but that's because the product he had in the past was so bad that it would be near impossible to do worse.

His completion % is extremely worrisome, not because he hasn't thrown the ball away or drops, but becase those are wasted downs. The most common reason for 3 and out is usually because of a missed pass.

Can he learn to be better? Absolutely.

Will it matter? Probably not. Do you honestly think he'll beat out Emory Jones as a Jr? Or Jalon Jones as a Sophomore? He's on borrowed time.

He can be awesome next year...that is in the future. You should understand that there is no way to predict what will happen and to dismiss him...is an error imo and you need to support him instead of nitpicking the shite out of everything. about him. Its a bad look. Everyone is laughing at you (except Box).

You and I both know WHY you do this...you cant stand losing and you predicted all summer that your boy Trask would be named starter...you were WRONG and have a hornet in your shorts. Stop and think about how you appear on this board...you don't post about anything except the flaws of Franks...it gets old. Get new material.

...is bullshite.

I constantly say that Franks is very good at short passes, and that if he focuses on that rather than the heroic leaping, dancing in the backfield and throwing intermediate/deep passes he can have a fantastic career.

You guys are just extremely sensitive to people correcting you. Are you saying that there has been any unit worse than Quarterback the last two games?

Cherry picker! Why not bring up the KY game? Oh thats right

OL got their lunch money took, LBs over ran gaps numerous times, hardly a peep from our DL and DBs got beat deep on tds... Crickets from Straws

The team as a whole is not great, but you breaking down 1 man after a loss or implying 1 man is holding us back is straight bullshite

The thing is: You're accusing me but you don't want to listen to my reasoning.

Defense had a bad game, they're allowed to have bad games. A mobile Quarterback by the other team exposed holes in a defensive unit still learning their roles. However, they bucked up and turned the ball over twice when their backs were against the wall and held the opposing team to 21 points.

21 points is less than the entire average of last year. Yes, they got beaten down, they had a terrible game, but in the end they did their job. Their job is to hold the opposing team to the least amount of points possible, 21 isn't that good, but it should be enough.

My contention is that the defense should be able to have a bad game -- and they're not allowed. Our offense can't score with consistency unless they have a lot of help from the defense.

Our defense last game had:

4 fumbles.
1 fourth down stand.
1 safety.
2 interceptions.

They had as many turnovers as Franks had completions (through 3 quarters).

My problem is that Franks doesn't seem to be growing fast enough. Sure he doesn't run out of bounds for a loss of four yards all the time, but he still is woefully inconsistent. Even with the drops, his completion rate is BELOW last year, and we haven't even played a strong team yet. (Kentucky maybe) This is not promising.

How fast you expect the most demanding position on the field to grow in a new offense? We went from Mac to Mullen, thats a helluva jump in coaching. I cant remember Mac pulling him aside the whole time they were together and talking to him about a play or series ect. Mullen is in his face everytime he walks off the field asking what happened, what he saw ect

I swear, del Rio has become one of the most overrated players in UF history

In 2016 he threw 8 TD, 8 INT for a 118 passer rating and 6.8 Y/A.

He had no scholarship offers out of high school and lucked into a starting job at UF. He wasn't a good QB.

Most who watched del Rio in high school in Jax thought the only reason he even started for Bolles was because of his dad

Dude, Del Rio came in and saved Franks' arse against Kentucky last year.

Franks had 45 yards through two and a half quarters (+1 45 yard pass or something along those lines only because Kentucky didn't guard a player).

Del Rio only loses 5 yards for his unguarded TD pass.

Del Rio literally doubled Franks' numbers in a quarter and a half but you guys are all in here acting like Franks is going to be in the Heisman talk soon.

That's why Straws likes Del Rio. And Trask. He likes the guys no one wanted or wants. It's like he thinks he sees hidden gems others don't I guess?

Del Rio was average af. It's why he couldn't start anywhere and kept transferring.

Trask is average af. It's why he is on the bench...as he has been for six years.

Imagine losing multiple scrimmages to Trask + getting outdone by him in the Spring Game.

Imagine getting benched for Del Rio and having him save your arse.

You shite on other Quarterbacks but can't get up off of your knees and take a breath from pumping an egregiously poor Quarterback who struggles to complete more passes than the defense has turnovers.

Then you come in here talking about my intellectual honesty.
