Only way this makes sense at this point is if Kelly comes out Sunday as the HC and they say they wanted to wait till after the season to announce and he privately told UCLA no.

I'm not in law school yet but I know this: a non binding agreement has the same value as a moist fart.

If and I say IF all this Chipper stuff doesn't end well Sticklin better have one hell of a back up plan.
Just from what I see on here it will be really ugly if we lose to UCLA

NONE of us even know for sure if Kelly was actually OFFERED the UF job. None of us.
Stricklin may be laughing his arse off while the rumor mill swirls. He may have someone else all lined up....we don't know.

I really hope he has SCOTT FROST all locked up and ready to sign the contract Saturday and be announced Sunday.

Scott frost will not coach at Florida.

A lot of fans seem to be Kelly or bust at this point . Some of that is on Stricklin . We all need to calm down because he is not that much better then some of the others .

Kiffin would be well received by most and our offense would be lethal real soon imo.
He is brash and confident and we might need that.

Update from a Bruin insider who works in the AD department:
He doesn't feel confident in Kelly at all, and says this is the second time the fanbase has gotten their hopes up only to have them dashed.
He says it was a major embarrassment from Pierson, and that he got several very angry calls to tell them to delete it.
He also said Biggins was using the source from Pierson (as I suspected earlier)and he doesn't think they have a real shot at Chip Kelly due to their facilities -- they have no capacity to do secret practices and they don't even have a 100 yard football field to practice on.
He said that their top guys are confident, but they also did this with Patterson when they were never in the running and that he wouldn't be surprised if it happened again.

UCLA "insiders" reported that Kelly had chosen UCLA, but this was disputed by a CBS report and it was later deleted from 24/7 because the author was worried that people had misinterpreted his headline of "Kelly to UCLA" as Kelly was going to be UCLA's football coach
UCLA is not used to this sort of attention and they don't have as many outlets to get football news. Some of their sites have to be loving every minute of this, but I'm not sure how reliable their stories are. It seems they are constantly putting out some big headline to get hits and then walk it back.

Guy on twitter just asked "What if Chip is using UF to get UCLA to move and get more $$ while at the same time helping set up his guy Scott Frost for a big gig at UF?"
If true, not mad

Tracy Pierson has been revealed as the source for Biggin's Insider Article that started all of this shite.
The problem with UCLA is their timeline when matched to our own.
Florida vetted Kelly for quite a bit of time, we were also in talks with Kelly for at least a couple of weeks (that we know of) because really our AD didn't want to let it get out that we were courting Kelly.
But, like I said: We had like two/three weeks to talk over his demands, vet him and his assistants and see what we could and couldn't do. We have our plane flying to him on a Sunday with all of our heavy hitters on video.
The problem with UCLA is that their top source (Pierson) said that Kelly didn't want to talk to UCLA until they fired their HC -- which happened on Saturday.
Now, the earliest report that we have of UCLA meeting with Kelly's Agents is Sunday by the Gainesville Sun (which is a UAA mouthpiece) and that was redacted completely and ''corrected''. (1)
UCLA Insider's Board has a post that says that UCLA doesn't feel very confident that they're getting Chip Kelly on Monday, and that they're pursuing other candidates. (2)
By Tuesday, we have our second Chip Kelly report and that it's his Agents met with UCLA in Los Angeles, so this is technically two and a half days after firing their HC and this is when we have our first Insider Post that says ''UCLA will get Chip Kelly'' and that he ''would be surprised if Chip goes somewhere else''.
On Wednesday, the report regarding Kelly's Agents in LA gets walked back and then they were NH. I can't confirm or deny that they were there. Tracy Pierson writes an article on 247 that declares Chip Kelly has chosen UCLA -- he deleted the article in less than an hour and a half and wrote an apology.
On Thursday, Chip Kelly to UCLA has completely died down outside of a few ''the top brass feels confident'', silly things like that that no one can verify.
My biggest ''qualm'' is that Florida took two and a half weeks, maybe three to not only vet Chip Kelly, but vet his assistants and write up a very serviceable contract and eventually fly out to meet him.
What UCLA wants us to believe is that they not only vetted Chip Kelly and his assistants, but that they also wrote up a multimillion dollar contract within 2.5 days (on Tuesday) and Chip Kelly bolted to them immediately to sign.
It's not feasible that they wrote up the contract (without changing it a few times, as most contracts get punted around), vetted his assistants and got him to sign with them.
So in the end: The Gators have the best chance of any school to land Chip Kelly and there is literally no reason to believe otherwise. Gators ''Insiders'' in the know have been very consistent and have faithfully predicted things repeatedly, and even took the time to look into this rumors.
OB leaked Grier's PED usage, McElwain's firing and Chip Kelly's vetting and he says he is #AllIn.
Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving, and just wanted to update everyone on what I've seen.

If his agent is an alumni, its not hard to think he may have been telling them exactly what Chip was saying he wanted from us so they could get ahead of the game

It's not possible. Chip Kelly refused to talk with UCLA (this is by their own Insiders, this is not what I'm saying) until they officially fired their HC.
The problem with that contract is remember what he was asking us, what some of the hangups were: What assistants could he bring? What kind of promises were going to made by the facilities?
It's weird that this goes out the window -- because there's no way UCLA could vet all of those assistants unless they just took his Agent's word, and I can't believe any self-respecting school would ever just ''take someone's word'' to draw up a contract a lot faster. Remember, too, that they met for the first time Tuesday. The first time they've had official talks if we're to believe their own Insiders.
Their facilities are also pisspoor -- they don't have an indoor facility for private practices, they don't even have a full 100 yard practice field.
It would just be very strange that our Insiders were right about everything else (plane dates, vetting process) but they would be wrong about Chip Kelly's value in his assistants and facilities.
There's no way they wrote up that contract without skipping several things.
Maybe they talked to him beforehand, but that would mean that Tracy Pierson (known for being a hack) was completely wrong about Kelly not talking beforehand to UCLA -- which means that he was lying through his teeth and doesn't know anything.
This is the most confident I've been all week after reading multiple reports and seeing the boldest UCLA stories being marched back.

Chip yes, but his UCLA Alumni agent couldve been filling them in on the progress between us and Chip. Kinda coincidental that they knew to fire Mora while our guys were on the way to Chips house with contract in hand
