UAA will have a meeting tomorrow -- a lot of people are saying don't put stock into Kelly's being with ESPN tomorrow.

UAA is probably going to collapse and give in, gents, it's still on.

I'd be fine with strong. I believe in him.

As would I, unfortunately we've painted ourselves into a corner with Chip Kelly and people wouldn't see it as a good hire.

Strong would be here for a long time, and can recruit like a motherfricker. If he gets some tough backs (he will have a few on roster) and can recruit the defense, he could turn it around in a year.

The problem is: I just don't think our fanbase is gonna wait on this. Chip could be successful next year, and since the University did nothing to quell rumors (imho this was a mistake) they now have to move forward with Chip and take a moderate gamble.

Those were olemc's words specifically, I used it earlier but he should have the credit for putting it into the conversation.

This is the future of our program, and I hope their heads are cool enough to understand that they need to swallow their pride and give the unwashed masses what they want.

Tostitos.

Yeah, beacuse I had said in another post that I always felt like they had their collective hands in the program. I think it's still in the high 90s that we get Kelly, but if Stricklin pulls this off -- shite, we might as well build a statue to him.

No more ''cheap'' hires, no more unproven guys with little track record, it's time to get a big fish, and the big fish has shown interest in us.

It's looking like Frost will be in 5 Mil a year neighborhood at Braska it will probably take 6 to 6.5 Mil for Chipper a year.will UF's powers to be guess that would be the UAA be willing to give a 5 year 30 to 32.5 MIL contract.

If Frost wants to travel all over the country and recruit for a mediocre program in a mediocre conference more power to him. I don't blame him for thinking Florida was too tough for him to run back where a team hasn't won anything of significance for 20 years.

Strong might do OK, but we would absolutely be putting him into a terrible position. If it is not Kelly or Frost the hire is going to be rejected by a huge portion of the fanbase.

I still have very high confidence Kelly is going to be named. Stricklin has the hiring authority, but there are some demands that may need consultation with the UAA Board. IMO a large part of this is consensus building among a group of people that are very important for him to work with in the future. Think this is likely wrapped up either Sunday or early next week.

I seriously doubt Chris Low has much of an idea of what is going on. He has never been that connected to the UF program.

Exactly, man. He's just making a bet in case it's wrong. Anbody could say it because there's no news, but I've heard from sources close to our program that things are looking up.

All Stricklin's Twitter feed is people asking/commenting about Chip Kelly.

https://twitter.com/ScottStricklin/status/931680268519460864

It may be the best shot we have at putting their feet to the fire and making the right decision. I'm tired of them saying things like ''we're not going to throw other sports under the bus to pay for football''.

Football fricking pays for all of those other sports.

It's looking more and more like the chipper and UF deal is not happening.

Frost is of the market as well so who is left frickin not anyone I am happy with Dooley and his iPod said from the beginning that NORVELL is the guy.

I would just rather keep Shannon on as coach then have NORVELL or TAGGERT

Way to go sticklin to screw up our already screwed up football program.

I don't blame Scott if this fails. Hell no to Shannon. Whoever suggests him can:

I read someone say that the deal we offered Kelly was $4.5 mill for the first two years, then $7 mill for the next 4 years
