If Leach was at Georgia, they might literally be unstoppable -- assuming that they were pouring the same capital resources into recruiting, of course.

Even if Leach was at a place like Tennessee, he would be an absolute nightmare to face every year because you'd never know what kind of points they were likely to put up.

You literally just have no idea what you're talking about. He brought Washington State to their first 11 win season ever in the history of the program.

Ole Missy beat Bama because they were buying players and not just for offense.

Straws we disagree to agree. I have a valid opinion and its in the record books at all the 50 points scored that teams lose when they cant even run 1/2 yd for a first down.

The pass happy offense btw was originally a Univ of Tulsa thing back in early-mid 60s.

If and when college football becomes a minor league of the NFL and pays players and teams throw 60 plus times I will stop caring...the amateur model is what made it great and its disappearing. $$$$$ is the new model. TV and advertisers will destroy it.

Leach is an odd duck, but I would take him as a head coach any day. I am currently happy with our situation though.

I don't think any of us want him over Mullen. Just sayin if Mullen were to leave/retire ect, many of us would take him in a heartbeat.

100%. I like having some power elements to the spread as well as a vertical, downfield threat. There's nothing wrong with having a heavy running game and muscling people around, but I like our offense to be more dynamic.

Leach's offense is a blast, and I'd love to have it at Florida, but I wouldn't TRADE it for what we have now, just if it was somewhat available.

If Mullen were to incorporate some of his concepts into our passing game, I'd have no problems with it

I think the big thing is having a mobile QB, too. I really like that we can get a free first down just because someone wasn't directly spying on our QB.

Mobile QB + Air Raid concepts + Power Spread. Sounds like a very complete and balanced offense.

That's when we'll see what this offense can really do. Right now we have a good runner and a good passer as 2 different guys -I say this because playcalling with Emory in is being safe right now-. When we get one who can do both, its gonna get very interesting

That's also why I look forward to 2021 when Trask and/or Franks aren't on the team. They're both "mobile" and can get first downs, but neither of them are even above average -- and they have no depth behind either of them since Emory Jones isn't ready.

So in 2021, it'd be:

RS JR Emory Jones.
RS SO Anthony Richardson.
RS FR Carlos Del Rio.

Hopefully one of them is an above average passer, because that's a dangerous QB room.

'I always like balance, but I'm not stubborn,' Dan Mullen on offensive philosophy going forward. Key is 'to build around strength of our players.'

Its happening! :)

This is what I like to hear. I like that we are going to be able to change everything up midseason and make teams adjust to us.

Even if it's just coach speak, any team that watched the Tennessee game must understand that we are a true threat to throw, which means that the run might open just a wee bit more.

Adjust to the strengths of your team.

We have a WR Corps that can take it to the house on any play.

We'll call it the Gator Raid

Most of you aren't aware of Spuurier Fun n Gun offense, it wasn't an air raid offense and had more balance than you think.

Air raid means pass every down...even 3rd and a half yd to go. Throwing the ball 60+ times. Spurrier never did that and didn't want to.

Look at his record with RBs, Errict Rhett was 1st team ALL SEC in 1991 and AA +ALL SEC in 1993 and had 4,163 yds rushing during his career...was drafted 2nd round. This isn't something you would see in an air raid.

After Rhett, we had Ejilah Williams who had 858 yds in 1995 and was 4th in the SEC in rushing. Then we had Ernst Graham who was a very good back until that shitehole nole twisted his ankle in a pileup (sound familiar?)...and we lost to UT in 2001 because we didn't have him in the backfield...or we would have won another SEC title. Spurrier resigned after that year when we beat Maryland in the Orange Bowl.

Depends on your definition of balance. IE Your mindset.

Leach defines balance as making the defense defend every player instead of a primary. At halftime the only question he asks his AC is the catch distribution. Whos getting the ball and whos not. Get the ball to the ones not.
So yeah you can be balanced and make the defense respect the run and pass, putting them in a bind or you can make them guess where the ball is going next and to what spot on the field. Equally binding imo

The first thing Leach ask at halftime every game is for a list of which receivers have catches and how many.

The reason? Because he wants it even so the defense can never key in on a single player. His offense is incredible in how it can attack every area of the field at any time from the LOS to 30 yards out.

It's why it has become insanely popular in both CFB and is being used somewhat in the pro. Love watching it.

If he wasn't using 2 star athletes...it wouldnt be unstoppable. With our receiving core he would score 70 a game.

This receiving corps is way too good to not utilize in a similar type of offense. However, if Leach had his hands on this talent it would just be an absolute nightmare to defend.

Especially since if they run it the other team is completely unprepared. Just imagine what he could do with the type of talent in Florida.

The defense could still play explosive, too, on the other side. Turnovers and the like. Could get a lot of talent because you'd bet your arse we'd be rotating players like crazy.
