The Millen vs Warner Debate

Reading Napier's comments about why he stuck with Warner for the entire Texas game and I am losing it over here:
It's just nuts! Millen was a starter last year at another school (FBS). Warner didn't see any playing time in 2023 at Yale. Why wouldn't he given Millen a try after Warner threw a pick to start the 3rd quarter? Why not play him on just one series in the 4th quarter for giggles?
As a head coach, wouldn't you want to see how a QB performs in game environment during garbage time? Sometimes players are just good in practice and are terrible on the field.
Honest to God truth: I can still remember watching Danny Wuerffel and Doug Johnson warming up pregame in 1995. And Johnson's passes were crisp and fast while Danny's throws looks like wounded ducks. Watching that, you'd wonder who was the starter. But all of us would have taken Danny in a game any day. Is Napier just blinded by practice stats???
As someone said: Napier tried to convince us Mertz was better than Lagway, and now he is trying to convince us Warner is better than Millen.
All I can say is:

quote:
"We were very aware of what was happening," Napier said. "It wasn't necessarily Aidan as much as just in general. I think we can play better around him at times, and then it is what it is at that point. You can only get so many people ready to play."

I watched some tape of the CSU guy and it' would be hard to belive the Yale transfer is better. He mostly throws short stuff but is pretty accurate doing it.

Like I said in the other thread, if Napier is making the decision on this, it will be the wrong one.
