How do his offenses ranked compared to Muschamp’s ? He won the east with every team in the division being down. His record at UF should be close to Muschamps . We hired a offensive head coach to get our offense back on track . He hasn’t done that yet .

Was the team in Tebow’s last season here no better then Macs first 2 teams ? Both won the east but didn’t win the SECCG .

I am sorry but some of us want championships and we need a better offense to get them .

Who on here is slobbing his knob or Richts? Everyone that wants Mac fired would not want the more experienced version of him in Richt. Kirby’s recruiting is very good compared to Macs .

You hear coaches talk "dream job" i want the coach who comes here thinking this is his. Not some guy looking to use UF as a platform to jump to another gig like Urban did.

I would take it in a heartbeat. Give me 2 NCs please.

No doubt. Meyer chose us over his #1 dream job. I want a guy hungry for success and ready to win championships.

My top choice is still Spurrier, dipped in the fountain of youth and riding in a unicorn. That would bring the swagger back, big time.

Ok, it has come to light that there have been death threats made against Coach, players, and their respective families.

This is football. There is no reason to make threats like that. If a football team's performance affects you so deeply that you feel the need to threaten someone's life, you should re-evaluate yours.

Yes, we're going through a rough patch, but don't make it personal. GET. OVER IT.

Hopefully no one and it was just some arse on social media posing as a Gator fan. Don't want to think that an actual Gator would resort to such trash.

Sounds likes Macs playing the sympathy card. If you want to move on, it's part of the business and you didn't talk to the cops, why bring it up?

We don’t want him dead just fired . The AD and boosters should be the ones that are pissed off more then anyone. They have to find away to get him fired because the team seems to always do enough to keep his job. Plus they have to pay off his contract. We couldn’t even fill the stands against LSU . Fans are getting sick of this crappy offense.

That first paragraph quoted is the exact reason I have given up on Mac. I can understand losing with this many people out, but it's incomprehensible that we can't function at a FBS level three years in. Basic shite is still just a cluster freak. It's why I don't see him EVER winning a title here. His team is unorganized, has no discipline, and lacts structure. That is ALL on coaches.

So basically. The side of the ball Mac isn't part of, is successful despite injuries, suspensions, and new faces.

So why does his side of the ball suck so much freaking dick?

Funny. Maybe we should just make Shannon head coach. Seems to do fine despite the obstacles.

Frost or Leach are clear choices to improve us. Frost just gets it, and Leach can do it with walk on QB's.

Yea...both would come here over their current schools, in a second.

Because QB is harder to learn than any other position?

This whole thing just got a bit awkward for Mac, the UAA statement on the issue:

quote:

UAA offical said McElwain met with the administration Monday afternoon but offered no new details about the death threats.

Which is why coaches like Leach adjust their offense to simplify it when they have an inexperienced QB.

I don't expect a RS Freshman to be a Heisman type guy, but I expect the staff to figure out his strengths and weaknesses and adjust the game plan to those.

That is the major issue with Nuss. He will not dumb down this offense. He is too cocky and arrogant and has this control issue as reported by multiple QB's who played for him.

We need a simplified offense. Add in Franks can actually run decently well, not fast but he can be used to run on occasion like LSU used their QB. He needs to have two reads on a play, then run. It's clear he can't progress reads, and option routes aren't a great choice for this offense(so many plays where Franks and the receiver see a different route and it's thrown to no one).

We need easy check downs to screens if the defenders play off. RB screens which basically don't exist in this offense despite athletic offensive lineman. Much more wildcat with Toney OR Zaire. Davis needs the ball on the outside, but with proper blocking and to the STRONG SIDE OF THE FIELD.

There is a lot we can do with the players we have, if we just adjusted the offense to these specific players and stop running the exact thing Nuss and Mac envision their ideal offense to be. It's time to adjust this in the bye week and come out vs Georgia like Meyer did in 2010 with the crazy QB system. It worked.

Massey needs screens. TOney if healthy needs 10+ touches no matter how he gets them. Davis must carry 25 times, he has to be the center point of the offense.

CLeveland should have four deep balls thrown a game. Minimum. It's worth the risk. He is amazing at 50/50 balls and if single covered with no safety help over top he needs to ball thrown to him. We have to take these kind of risk to win the game vs Georgia.

Read somewhere that Nuss models his terminology similar to the NFL. So one play has like 25 words in it

It is. HIs offense is pretty much a prototypical NFL offensive scheme. Which is why Franks can' run it. Basically telling a kid who barely knows football at a high level and telling him to perform a system that Manning would run.

I wouldn’t have a issue with a offensive minded head coach that adjust his offense to his players and is hands on. If his defenses have struggled then we hire a top rated DC for him. I don’t want a coach where we have to hire new coordinators for his side of the ball to get improvement.

My top 2 picks for our next head coach would be Scott Frost and Fuente. If we could get one of them in this year then it’s time for a change. I wouldn’t be against Charlie Strong if we fire Mac next year because some of the guys like Frost will likely already have big jobs . With all of the job openings in this conference a lot of the top young HCs will get better jobs this year .
