Agree, funny I was just thinking about ol Kool Kliff, I think he'd be able to recruit pretty well around here. Has that Florida look / swagger

quote:

people knock some coaches defenses, but they just don't have talent on that side of the ball and have to scheme around things. have to have talent for defense.

FINALLY, someone gets this. Ive been saying this for years.

Kliff is 28-29 according to Wikipedia. And that’s from a conference where there isn’t any defense. I’m not so sure he’ll be that hot here.

he hardly gets any recruits at tech to keep up with the top of the b12.

i'd still take others before him, but think he would do well here.

Klif is at TT, competing against Texas,OU and A&M for recruits. Still has one of the best offenses in the nation. 5* DL/LB and DB dont go to T-Tech

Plus he was the OC for A&M when they took down Bama

Assuming things don't take a turn for the better, if I was AD and knew Scott Frost wanted the job I'd make a move.

A future name to watch is Matt Campbell. He's quietly built an impressive resume and is only 37 years old.

Frost would be a homerun. But word is he's just waiting for the Huskers to call.

That was always my thought as well, although lately it seems that not everyone is convinced he'll wind up there.

Pete Thamel -

Frost isn’t as big of a shoo-in as many have assumed. He obviously considers Nebraska a special place. But the judiciousness he’s shown in past year indicates he’ll vet the job as thoroughly and emotionlessly as any other job that opens on the market. He certainly could end up at Nebraska, but he’ll do so with an approach that’s more pragmatic than sentimental.

I am saying the guys on here who expect the team to go 11-1 every year are the ones that should be leading the charge for a new head coaching. But you guys are homers with your expectations and not being realistic . I am not saying we should be 11-1 every year that’s your Mac supporting buddies.

Why is Kirby on that list ? I don’t think any Gator fan would want Richt we already have someone similar.

I don’t think firing a offensive head coach after his 3rd season is unrealistic . It’s more likely that he is fired after the season then us winning the final 5 games like some of the Mac supporters are predicting.

So are you saying that there is no chance MAC will be fired after the season ? The more you guys say it the more likely I think it is because you guys are clueless about this team with your expectations.

Charlie Strong or Lane Kiffin would be my top choices. Both know Florida recruiting and would bring a swagger back to UF football.

You hear coaches talk "dream job" i want the coach who comes here thinking this is his. Not some guy looking to use UF as a platform to jump to another gig like Urban did.

It's unrealistic in the sense that there was a clear upgrade from the last head coach -- he literally took a team that Muschamp couldn't do better than 3rd in the East and made them 1st.

2013 - 5th

2014 - 3rd

2015 - 1st

2016 - 1st

We were predicted to finish 5th in 2015, we were predicted to finish 3rd in 2016 and both times we found ways to win the East.

This is the first year where we're below the prediction line (and the season isn't over) -- 3rd. I don't think we'll finish worse than 3rd -- but that prediction was made before the injuries and suspensions. Everyone knew that this wouldn't be the year because we were still rebuilding the offense, for one, and we lost the majority of our senior defense.

There's no way McElwain gets fired because the weight of the suspensions as well as the injuries -- he would literally have to lose every game hereon out by 30, including UAB.

Suck it up, gents, he's gonna get at least another year and if he does really well this year, he'll be our HC for the next five.

He won the East with defense. He's an offensive coach. His offenses have been worse than WMa. He sucks and deserves to be canned.

For the 500th time....Mac will be our HC in 2018. We lost two games by three points. Get your panties straighten out.

After 2018 then we talk if necessary.

Lets hire a sure fire hot HC like Tom Herman...oops, he has already been on the hot seat lickety split. Be careful what you wish for. Got rung up at HOME to Maryland which has proven to be worthless.

Give it a rest...Mac will be our HC through 2018 and you keyboard jockeys aren't changing that. Some might wanna bitch on a message board because they want recruiting to suffer.

Jumbo needs to be fired btw...all that talent and they suck. Gets beat by Louisville at HOME after they lost to Boston College and got gashed for 364 rushing yds...the girls school doesn't know how to run the ball?

The rebuilding was supposed to be over. This was the year that the offense was expected to make significant gains while the defense was rebuilt, some had even hinted a breakout year. Mac touted the dramatic improvement of the OL and the fact that Franks had separated himself from LDR and Zaire. There was a ton of confidence heading into the season.

Right now he's getting another year and will be replacing a number of coaches. However, it can all change pretty quickly. It comes down to the money. The massive fundraising effort going on right now plays a huge role in these decisions. If the season tanks and money dries up, circumstances can could call for something more drastic this season.

Lane won't get hired here. He's got a problem with dabbling in the young girls, and Florida isn't going to bring that to campus.

We had a HC not too long ago that was messing around and attorneys got involved and it was ugly. We don't need any
of that.
