I am going to take up for Franks just a little. If you count the number of throwaways, that avoided sacks and the interception in the end zone that I am not convinced wasn't due to a blown pattern by the receiver, Franks had as good a day as Burrows. His improvement can not be ignored. He is still limited due to lack of experience but is improving every game. He will never have a statue in front of the stadium but he can and will have a good career at UF if the O-line continues to improve and the running back continue to pound the rock like Saturday night. go Gators!

2 avg QBs in this game, one lost it by throwing a pick 6. Franks had a few throwaways to avoid sacks ect but other than the pick in the EZ where he got hit i never really had a problem with his play. I wont lie, kid took some hits, on one he got folded like a lawn chair i thought he was done but he toughed it out. The long pass to Grimes shouldve been caught and I honestly expected him to carry the defender into the EZ on the throwback pass.
Imo the team grew up a lot this game. LSU is solid as they come and our lines beat their asses on both sides

Frank's is a tough kid man. He went head on with three defenders on third down. It didn't convert..but that was a steel balls play right there. His slide later was because I think Mullen probably told him..hey um..don't do that you nut job lol. He played okay. Had some good throws and some not good ones. About what we should expect.

It’s weird you watch the games and Franks is improving but he doesn’t look that good sometimes. Then you look at his tats and he is in the middle of the pack for SEC QBs in half of the stats or better . The problem I have is that we won enough games that if he could improve on the little things we would win out easy if we beat Georgia. The offense just doesn’t seem to run smooth. I think we need to Emory get some snaps or if he is not ready then Toney should get some snaps at QB. I think the QB not being a runner is part of the reason the offense is struggling. When Franks does run the offense seems to stay on the field longer . Maybe Mullen is holding back on using Franks till we play Georgia.

Emory is nowhere near ready and Toney is more limited as a passer than Franks

Emory is not ready. He is still raw. He will be the future. The kid has absurd talent. But Frank's is the best option right now
Add in. Notice he is calm now? That's big. After the pick he was mad sure, but he calmed down. Saw him get hit by White two drives later and get up talking and smiling. Exactly what you want to see when times are tough actually. Means he isn't panicking anymore. Kid is up and down in terms of accuracy just is what it is. But he is now a decent QB. Not terrible. So that's what we have for now and it's fine. We are going to be scary good next year either way.

There are issues and blame sandwiches for everyone on offense.
Some of you don't get it...we seem to start slowly and cant run well...making passes difficult. And Mullen usually has designs to fool defenses in second half. Our OL "soften ups" the defense and we are better shape physically and mentally than our opponents.
I relax and let it unfold. There are always fans who bitch about the offense not scoring enough...I don't know why....we wanna freaking win! Even by a point. Is Franks a finished product...but he is improving and is learning to relax...no more happy feet. That's huge in itself. Better watch video of him last year...awful.
He has thrown 13 TDs and has 4 picks. He is not afraid to be tough and get the offense picked up when its crunch time.

I agree everyone has some blame including the coaches . The offense still seems like everyone is not on the same page . Mullens offense does better with a rushing QB . Why not have Franks run more ? What are we saving him for ? Nobody seems to think he will be the starter next year and if we lose another game this year then the rest of the games won’t matter much .

Franks got about 42 yds rushing against the tigahs. He is still growing into his body at 6"6. That's a tall glass of water folks. Next year I expect him to add ten lbs of muscle and be able to run more and better. Remember that Mullen said one of the reasons to start Franks was because of his athletic ability...he sees him every day at practice.
But he doesn't want him hurt....that's for sure.

There is 2 reasons to be scared of getting Franks .
1. Mullen wants to win as many game as possible but don’t believe you can win the east .
2. Mullen believes Franks is the future QB and wants to make sure he has a full year to learn .

Luke Del Rio explained what happened on his podcast (pretty interesting game analysis in general).
I'm shite with formations, but from what I understand it was a post play with another guy running underneath and the third read being in between those two. Franks was more than likely trying to throw it away but was hit, leading him to make a throw in which he couldn't put any muscle behind. It looked like it was going to the middle guy, but it was more than likely him trying to dump it out of the end zone. It was one of those situations where he should have just taken the sack rather than trying to throw away something when he couldn't get his arm behind the ball.

Easy to say after the fact. If he hits the td we’re talking about how he stood in the pocket and delivered under fire
Posted on 10/9/18 at 3:01 pm to dbuchanon
But he didn't, so here we are.

He's pretending to for subs and attention because he knows not many people really respect his opinion outwardly.
I was there when he first started his podcast, and...having had an interaction with him, I can see why so many people hated him.

Just look at his Twitter feed. It started out almost exclusively NFL and turned into Florida, Florida, Florida when everyone asked him to.
Then we had a fight about when to critique Quarterbacks (lol), it was a few months ago and going through all of those Tweets will drive me crazy.
