If you have 2 guys at practice who are both what n what on their passes, but one gets the offense better than the other then clearly thats who youre going to put out there as your safest bet. Cmon man

Yeah, he picked the wrong guy.

Football isn't about safe. It's about playing the fricking true freshman in the second half of the Natonal Championship.

Championship coaches don't do safe shite, they take risks. Sometimes huge risks. Clemson is playing a true Freshman.

Tua is a year younger than Franks.

Kid has no Football IQ, the whole world knew it.

Tua played in mop up duty during that season and Hurts left Saban no choice but to see what the other QB could do in the NCG. Tua showed during the season what he could do which was pass better than Hurts yet still he didnt start. So again, Saban was safe until he couldnt be.
Hurts was avg like 155 yards passing a game. Yet started over Tua who was obviously better passing. Why did Hurts remain the starter? He was experienced, knew the offense and was "safer"

Who beat out their starter pretty much on a weekly basis. Not really taking a risk when the kid comes off the bench and out performs the starter in limited duty over the course of several games.
