Gators change lyrics to "We are the Boys"

Due to negative fan reactions to any setback in a sports team, this famous Gator fan spirit song line has been changed from "in all kinds of weather, we'll all stick together for F L O R I D A
to the more accurate version "when the Gators are winning, we'll all stick together if not fire the C O A C H E S.

Sad but true.

So fans aren't allowed to be mad at a loss now?

Don't see anyone throwing away their Gator gear. Just upset we lost. Fans can't have emotions now?

Hell, I am pissed too but calling for coaches to be fired and blasting players isn't a good look and part of the reason UF is known for having fair weather fans, when the lyrics on one of our most hallowed songs clearly expects the opposite from Gators.

Amen pass the ammo Matt. After any loss fans eat their own. Every SEC team not named Vandy does it. Usually it is the younger fans that sit on their hands when everyone else is cheering. They inherited dad's season tix and are rotten "fans".

Its ok to complain after a loss....but the "fire the coaches brigade" don't know what a football is unless it was stuck deep in their wazoo.

I mean, no where am I saying Mullen should be fired but there are several coaches who simply don't seem to be pulling their weight.

Grantham needs to make serious changes -- like actually being Grantham going forward.

Gonzales well...we had several plays and several games where receivers have no idea what they're doing. It's become a trend rather than an anomaly.

In the end, football is a rough sport and fans are right to be upset with what was happening. Mullen laid into Gonzales in front of everyone and it cost us a backbreaking timeout at the end of the game that we surely would have needed.

This isn't Mississippi State anymore. Losses really count.

We've been calling for English and Knox to be gone for awhile. Not a new thing. As for firing Grantham...I think he is good not elite. I'd personally rather fire the other two this offseason. Anyone arguing we recruit well enough...is just blind. It showed. It's shown. We can't beat a team of five stars with 3 stars often. Just not happening. Add in now LSU is recruiting at a very, very high level. If we can't catch up, we will fall behind.

Will wait til end of season to see if Mullen changes some staff.

Its gotten now where the recruiting is done in the office by recruiters rather than coordinators and its the social media that we have to win over. The recruiters behind the scenes set up the coordinators and HC and coaching staff are told which prospects need to be seen at football/basketball games and which high school coaches need to be seen. Right now with the turmoil in Tallyban and things not great in Dade County...we need to take advantage.

Yea. Still. If we fix recruiting, we have the coaching. Grantham is having to coach against five stars on Georgia, five stars on LSU, etc. That isn't easy. Sure I think both Mullen and Grantham had a bad game overall play calling...but the firing Grantham stuff to me is a bit much. He doesn't have a Matt Elam or Brandon Spikes back there.

I dont think Grantham is the problem I will day he didn't call a great game but players also have to make plays and if Dean is the best we have then well there is the problem last year when i said dean would never be a good player at Florida everyone got upset with me. Sorry but Georgia pick on him all day and next year they will do the same thing with the same result but Wilson, hendo and Stewart were all bad Saturday the only person that played well was Davis in the Defensive backfield

As far as coaches I would like to see gone Gonzales, knox, and English should never coach another game at Florida. Mullen need to go get some assistant coaches that can recruit because until we start getting at least a top 5 classes we are only going to fall farther behind BAMA, UGA, and LSWHO

I think it's just that Dean is playing out of position. He was perfectly serviceable last year as a true freshman and put on an island.

Grantham kind of reminds me of guys I train for local MMA tournaments. They hear someone say: "He's a really good grappler because he's too much of a pussy to box" and immediately start thinking about knocking the next guy out.

His bread and butter is pressure, and this soft zone against elite Quarterbacks is one of the stupidest things Ive ever seen. It's almost like he's heard "Third and Grantham" and suddenly has become too afraid to blitz on third down -- and when he did it came from an obvious safety blitz instead of, say, a quicker corner getting a free shot at the QB.

We have the personnel to play exactly like he likes to call his games and he seems completely reluctant to actually do it.

Bizarre indeed.

I dont know that we actually have the personal though. I mean outside of Henderson do we actually have a good corner? Marco for all the hype...sucks. Even Henderson got burnt quite a few times by Cager. Just a very un Gator like secondary.

Cager had 7 catches, Swain had 8 receptions. It wasn't an issue of covering...it was an issue of missed tackles and way too many arm tackles.

If we make sure tackles the game is much different.
