I agree Mullen is a bozo and his qb "guru" status is questionable. But this take isn't so ridiculous. Cam ended up having a historic 2010 and carried Auburn to a title with Gene Chizik.

Do you mean he thought back in 2008 that Cam was better than Tebow?
If so, then yes he is a dumbass. Actually, even if not, he is one. But I kind of could see him saying that Cam could be better than Tebow down the road (and as mentioned, in the NFL that was true). But if this means back in 2008, then yeah, Mullen is a total fraud as a "QB whisperer".

The story is that he told Meyer that, the year after Tebow won the Heisman, but did say that Tebow gave UF the best chance to win.

I do remember Cam coming in and showing some potential against Tennessee and other teams during garbage time. But he also looked pretty raw too. Tebow had the experience and more polish.
If Dumbass Dan said that he thought Cam would eventually be a better qb, I could see what he was saying. Maybe that's what he meant. He's an awkward guy who seems to have a hard time communicating his thoughts.

I sat in the endzone row 8, section 21 for a game when they were playing and remember thinking Cam was huge compared to Tebow.

Take it for what it’s worth, but one of Cam’s high school coaches is a buddy of mine and said he went to UF because Meyer convinced him he could start over Tebow

He was never given much chance to succeed in the NFL, even by his own team. I’ll never forget watching Tebow heroics win the playoff game in Denver, and seeing Elway’s face look of disappointment because it was Tebow who did it.

I am still pissed that the Jags didn't get Tebow and build the team around him. At that time they had nothing to lose.

I mean NFL talent wise - Cam is clearly a superior QB to Tebow.
College QB is far different than NFL. I’ll take an accurate passer, leadership ability, toughness, and game manager over anyone with all the talent in the world and none of the above.

If I was building a team at any level, I would take Tebow over Cam.
