Mike White not returning next year?

There's a thread currently up on 247 message board titled "Mike White fyi" that claims that there's a rumor that Mike White will NOT be the head B-ball coach next year.
The poster seems to be taken serious and credible, so we'll see where it goes. Hope it's true, this bs has gone on too long, he should've been canned at least 2 years ago, but certainly after losing to Oral Roberts.

Not sure yet. This poster Bullis33 on 247 started a thread called "Mike White fyi" and said:

So pretty much, he's saying that White won't be publicly fired, but maybe he'll be pushed out and encouraged to find a job at a smaller school in the off-season?
I think Shaka Smart did something similar at Texas last year.
We'll see how it plays out, but it seems like the posters and mods on 247 regard this guy as a credible poster with relevant info.

Money is not an issue either FYI. The right people are paying very very close attention to our program and it’s trajectory and are ready for change. Just like Mullen a few months ago.

Per Goldkamp at 247: "Jason Jitoboh out for the season after undergoing eye surgery"

Couldn’t find the original link, but this sums up the current state of Florida basketball perfectly.

I agree. I have to admit, been having mixed feelings about this little winning streak we've gone on the past few games.
I can never root against the Gators, but I believe if they lost to Mizzou and Ole Miss, Mike White would've been good as gone.
I'm getting worried that he'll win just enough to slip into the tourney and get knocked out of the first or second round again, setting the cycle in motion for another year of

It's likely not going to happen, but I hope Stricklin just pulls the plug now before the season ends like he did with Mullen.
It's long overdue.

I like Mike White I really do.
But the excuses are just that excuses. The turnover on this team year in and year out is ridiculous the transfer portal is killing Mike White in compared to what he lost to what he gained. Relying on the transfer portal instead of recruiting players that will stay in your program is the difference between being on the bubble and being solidly in the tournament every year.
We have been on the bubble and also a 500 team in the SEC now it seems like the last 5 seasons this is not something that can continue at Florida.
I would like him to have 1 more season to see if he can get it fixed if not then next year needs to be his last in Gainesville.

AG,
I also like Mike White on a personal level. Seems like he's a class act who treats people well and runs a clean program.
But it's year 7, I'm not sure what would shift in year 8 that would warrant him getting another year at this point. Time to cut losses and move on, because the basketball program is dead, and will remain dead, as long as he's at the helm.

Florida in a must win situation and had probably the worst half of basketball they have had all year. This is literally torture watching this first half.

As I said yesterday, is there really a need for another year of this? It's groundhog day with White. I have no interest in Men's B-ball any more.

Aggie has not won a game since beating Mizzou a month ago to this date (1/15).
Mike White is like a fat chick slump buster for shitty b-ball coaches.
On a losing streak? No worries, your next game is at home against Mike White's Gators.
Like Mullen (whose loss to Aggy might've literally saved Jimbo's job), Mike White has probably saved a ton of coach's jobs over the past 5 years.

Another tough loss
. 16-10 now.
Games with ranked AUB, UK, ARK all at home. Then 2 easy ones in Georgia and Vandy but on the road.

After the Texas State debacle, there are no such things as easy games anymore.

Florida would have to win 4 of those 5 games to get in the tournament not going to happen.
NIT this year if they even choose to go. This very disappointing.

Mike White's teams are so erratic and unpredictable, so I'd never bet on them one way or the other. But if I did, I could see us losing 4 out of those 5 much more than winning 4 out of 5.
Au,UK, Ark are likely losses.
I think UGA or Vandy could be losses, even though they suck, because those games are on the road. But I think we'll take at least one of those road games.

I'm not seeing any improvement in the team YOY or in player development. Mike White is a good guy, but it's time for a change.

Exactly my thoughts. Year 7 is plenty of time to at least be a consistent program that competes
