Theres reasons Saban himself hates offenses like Leach's.

Ole Miss didnt have top talent, beat Bama a few times.
A&M with Kingsbury as OC beat Bama
Spread team Clemson -almost beat him once in NCG and did beat him 2nd time-
Auburn
OSU beat him in NCG
UF beat him running spread

Chip Kelly, Scott Frost, Leach or any of his disciples would be problems for Saban in the SEC

It isn't about player personnel on defense...its the pass happy offense that doesn't work in the SEC.

I disagree

Stop the nonsense...we would NEVER hire him nor should we. Put his arse in the SEC and watch how many 4-8 seasons he'd have. Defense isn't optional in the SEC. Pac 12 is soft as Charmin.

This!

Better chance of hiring Spurrier, dipped in the fountain of youth and riding into town on a unicorn.

I think we'd be fine. His offense with actual talent plus the talent we already have on D..

Washington Huskies are the real deal in the Pac 12 with a really good defense...but not elite SEC defense. Leach with our defense? Sure, it would be a good defense until the air raid shite wears your defense out by 2nd qt. Look for someone else please. We don't parrot toting pirates as a HC...truly laughable.

Bama is who we wanna be...well, better have strong run game and a defense like a brick wall...that's how they win. The only time since 2009 that we even remotely came close to a NC team was in 2012 with Mike Gillislee/Driskel when we had a rock solid defense and a QB who could run...# 2 in BCS standings until UGA beat us after a flagfest PF contest (25 penalties called on both sides) and too many turnovers.

That is Bama's path to domination not UF's. The state of Florida has speed. When UF is great, its offense uses that speed to win football games. That is what Spurrier and Meyer did. Meyer also used that speed to dominate special teams.

But thats not how you beat them. Spread that defense out and make em run with your guys in space. OSU,Ole Miss, A&M,Clemson,OU and Utah. All spread teams. 2 of them Air Raid.
Saban himself admitted he hates HUNH Spread offenses. Thats how you beat him, making him get out of his base defense.

Name a pro style team that has beaten Saban.

LSU. Nope, their best couldnt cross the 50 yard line.

UGA, Bama will pick them apart

UF, got our asses handed to us

We have athletes with speed in the state of Florida. That’s why I have said We should be Chip Kelly’s first pick if he want to coach in college again. His predecessor Scott Frost said he had no interested in the Oregon job because it was harder to recruit their then UCF . I think we have a better chance to get a good HC this year then next year. Our team is setup to win next year so it makes it easier to take a the job knowing if you do a good job that you be 10-2 or better .

coaches have to try and win with the talent they can get. no one is going to recruit elite defensive talent at most schools. mike leach knows how to coach. if wazzou is going to compete with most of the pac12, they have to take what they can get. maybe the least talented team in the pac12. they actually have a decent defense.

alabama is dominant because of defense, and it's because they have the best athletes in the country. with a buncha 3 stars, saban would put out so-so defenses. thats what he's shown at cleveland, lsu and michst when he didn't alwways have a lot of talent.

the idea behind these smaller school coaches throwing the ball around like crazy is that they can't recruit good olinemen or talent on defense. they're just trying to win ballgames, not spread some silly passing game gospel. trust me, mike leach believes in winning any way he can.

No..we don't want to be Bama and that is the freaking problem. FLORIDA HAS DONE BEST SPREADING THE FIELD. Spurrier and Meyer- Spread style offenses

Zook, Muschamp, Mac - Pro style

Yea sorry. I'll take spread. Claiming it won't work is nonsense. There is a reason even Saban stopped running the run first style and went to a more engaging pass offense by hiring Lane. It's simply better. It spreads players out and forces one on one scenarios for defenders and lessens numbers at the ball. Leach DID run it quite often in 2007 when he had a strong RB. With Davis, he would run the ball way more than you think. Just like Gundy is called pass happy, yet Oklahoma State is almost 50/50.

i honestly think Leach "moneyballs" his teams together. it's the only thing that makes sense as to why he's been successful.

I would not want to see Florida’s talent with Mike Leach running the offense. You guys should stick with a true “pro-style” guy, really force those speedsters into a complex pro offense. Thanks

Ahhhh better look at the teams that Ole Miss had when they beat Bama....the best players money could buy and that included defensive players...try something else for the sake of this narrative.
