HBC has had his eyes on Lincoln for well over a year now. Lincoln almost got the South Carolina job after Spurrier retired. HBC highly recommended him to AD Tanner, and SC was very close to hiring him. HBC loves Lincoln Riley. He’s the real deal. Stoops stepped down at OU, Lincoln promoted to HC, and now has HC experience albeit just one year. He’s way beyond his years from a maturity standpoint, and the players love him. And big picture, the Big12 is sinking like the Titanic. Oklahoma has expressed its displeasure over the decisions that were made after the last conference realignment and they want out as fast as it can happen.

The articles below are from May & June of this year, but if you know how the HBC thinks, he’s always WAY ahead of everyone else, especially the media.

What has DMB let into our beloved gator board? Is he just letting anyone in nowadays? I see he's from Orlando. I bet he's a knight trying to get us to change our minds on Frost.

Explain why Lincoln leaves OH for here? Oklahoma may join the SEC soon. They also can match whatever we offer. I'm calling B'S. Especially with you spamming the board.

“Oklahoma May be joining the SEC soon.”..... Exactly why Spurrier wants him.

My father played at Florida with Spurrier, he coached at Florida under Doug Dickey. I was born in Gainesville. I’m a big Frost fan, but not gonna happen.

Spamming the board? Those are real articles from 5 months ago. Have you ever heard/read where HBC has gone out of his way to praise Frost like he has Riley?

The guy is 34 years old. How do we sit here and bitch moan and complain that norvell is young and riding the coattails of fuentes and praise another for being basically the same age and riding another’s coattails in stoops. It makes no sense.

I never cared about age. And cant say Riley rode Stoops coattails since Stoops is a defensive guy. Not like Stoops called the offense and Riley took over

He’s a one year head coach who inherited a championship caliber team.

Big game Bob never won a title when he should have. If Riley takes this team to the playoffs and beyond id say he accomplished more than Bob

That’s rich coming from a team that gave up 52 points last week. That’s the norm in the Big 12.

I doubt he leaves OU for UF. But if so id take him with no problem.

I still like Frost as the first choice, but if he does go to Nebraska instead and we bring in Riley id be happy with the hire

All the up and coming good coaches are young. Riley, Fuente, Norvell, Campbell, and Frost. Your definition of “riding coat tails,” is called a coaching tree which is how it works in CFB. Coaches that have “ridden Stoops’ coat tails” that have gone on to be Head Coaches are Mike Leach, Chuck Long, Mark Mangino, Jay Norvell, Mike Stoops, Bo Pelion, Kevin Sumlin, Kevin Wilson, and now Lincoln Riley. Coaches don’t just pop up out of nowhere without being groomed, or aligned with other coaches that help them along the way. Who was Stoops groomed by before he took he OU job in 1999?

Wrong, a coaching tree is taking what you’ve learned from said coach and applying it else where. Preferably a shitty school with shitty players and you build them from the ground up like a phoenix from the ashes.

Not when your given the keys to the castle and trip over the abundance of skill and talent that Oklahoma has.

Yeah, I'm not liking all of these rumors if it isn't ''Frost plans to visit Disneyland at least five times a month with his new raise at the University of Florida.''

Your first sentence is accurate. The rest of your post makes no sense whatsoever: “Preferably a shitty school with shitty players.”

Lincoln Riley is already the HC at Oklahoma. He was SMART to “preferably” align himself with a “non-shitty” school, with “non-shitty” talent when he chose to accept the OC job that Stoops offered to him in 2015, knowing that he could climb the ladder fast and parlay that into being a HC one day. He’s earned every bit of coaching success that he’s had so far, and hasn’t been handed anything. If he wasn’t good enough to be a HC then he would still be a coordinator.

how can you accurately analyze what he's done this year? any one of those coaches at OU could do what he's done so far. can he sustain it? imo, you can't accurately judge a coach until you see progress on the field. OU was already good. plus, there's no way he leaves OU after just one season. see willie taggart.
