The same fans Gator that pumped Mac as great and called everyone idiots and not fans for wanting Mac gone...now don't want Mullen?
I think these fans actually believe Mac > Mullen.
Mullen is a strong hire. It's not Kelly..but it's far better than an up and comer.

I’m glad it’s Mullen.

Same but so many fans on GC and Reddit are mad. Don't get it. It's a very solid hire.

Mullen is better than Kelly regarding longevity and passion, which we desperately need. Everywhere Meyer was successful was because Mullen was his QB coach.
We've been a quarterback away from beating the ever living shite out of every team we've played for the past two years (this year not so much).
If there is anyone that can get us a quarterback, coach him up and bomb out it's him.
And he's not like other coaches who ignore the defense.
Mullen is a way better hire than McElwain and Muschamp.
Although it's weird that our last four coaches have been M's.
Meyer, Muschamp, McElwain, Mullen.

it's baffling tbh. shows what our fan base knows about football.
a buncha peeps on gc actually wanted taggart. like, really bad. un-fricking-believable.
i wanted chip first, then gundy. think mullen was my third with leach and campbell 4th and 5th.
soooooooooooooooo fricking happy we don't have taggart.

Notice the down votes.
From ForeverGator.
He is a whinny little bitch. Since he has such an issue with me. Be happy to meet you in person and talk it out at a basketball game. I know I'm going to most of the SEC games this year since I'm moving back in Jan.
I mean..he has this much of an issue. Be happy to have a beer and hash it out.

taggart.
He got blown out like 4 times this season and failed to score more than ten points in three of those games in the PAC-12 where defense is actually optional.
I never understood him nor Norvell. Their agents need a raise.

They'll get over it.
Mullen orchestrated some of the best offenses in the history of our school and made the Vandy of the West into a highly competitive football team. He understands the expectations of UF better than most and knows what it takes to be successful here. There won't be any guessing or learning on the job for him.

yup. contrary to popular belief, oregon is still the 4th or 5th most talented team int he pac. had someone on gc telling me that uw and wsu were way more talented than oregon. unreal. they said oregonst had similar talent to uo. can't make that shite up.
fact is, taggart is just a preacher who out recruits and over talents other g5 programs. he'll never win anything in a major conference. he'll get a ton of talent to oregon, like they've never had before, but he'll never win the pac and maybe never win the pac north.

Agreed. We all want the same for UF. I don't see the argument against him honestly. He played in the toughest division, in the toughest conference, at the worst program.
Franklin never won anything at Vandy.
Saban never won anything at Michigan State
Les Miles never won anything at Oklahoma STate
Spurrier won the East in down years in USCe but got beat down in the SEC title game.
I mean..it's kind of what it is in CFB. Every program has a ceiling. Mullen found that ceiling, and kept the program there for years.
Exactly what you want. Florida has a much higher ceiling. His consistency there leads to hope of the same here.

Well, we all want the same thing...success for our football program. Taggart would have sent me screaming though.
My biggest problem is the coach search that I feel Stricklin didn't really conduct...he wanted his ole friend Mullen from the getgo. I could be wrong...but don't think so.
In the long run it doesn't matter, Mullen is our HC and I will pray for the best and hope he can put some more hardware in the trophy case. The east has UGA as our main competitor. UT, UK, Vandy and Mizzou don't have the talent. Boom has done more with less at USC and if he ever gets more talent, it will be a battle every year. But compared to the west the east is certainly more doable.

I believe SS didnt want to take the best HC that his Alma Mater has ever had but when UT went calling he knew Dan was ready to move so he swooped in and took him first.

I am shocked that Mac supporters would be against the hire . I haven’t seen any of them on here not want Mullen.
I think Mullen is a solid hire but I fear he will be like Mark Richt at Georgia. I hope we don’t over pay him .
