Is it better to overpay for mediocrity or be a cheap bottom feeder?

Brian Kelly and Napier…yeah we know how that went

Kelly did better but not good enough and got fired not long after Billy

LSU and UF are both 4-2 now. Maybe Kiffin takes the next step, but as of now they have the same record as us. They’ve been competitive in their losses but will probably be a 8-4 type team
This year. We might be 5-7/6-6.

They are spending tons of $ to be 8-4, we’re not spending but are going 5-7

Which is worse?

Both suck but I would want 8-4 over 5-7 no question.

The difference from us and LSU is they would be expected to have a chance in any game - even playing Georgia and Bama etc. We are literally looked at as a joke after these last 2 games. I cant remember a time we looked so good on offense early in the season against a highly ranked opponent and then just totally collapsed like this. Mizzu showed everyone how limited our offense is unless things change quickly. Teams just have to shut down the outside run and we are toast. Our pass blocking is terrible if we are forced to move the ball that way and we haven't shown an ability to line up and have much success running it up the middle if we haven't got the outside running game going already. Craziest mess I have ever seen - everyone (fans - us and opposing ones and media) talking up Faulkner as a head coach to now nobody wanting to consider that.

At this point, I have no idea what our NIL situation looks like. LSU is a war chest. They'll keep spending and die in debt to win a championship. We don't have that mentality. UAA loves to profit and laugh to the bank.
