Is Franks accurate enough for the deep throws?

We got lucky with UGA's QB's overthrowing the receivers, but we've seen Franks hit a couple while playing for us. with our secondary the way that it is, i can see this also being a shootout.

He's got a huge arm but I remember him overthrowing it a lot, so I think it's more about luck with him than it is with consistent skill. He hit one against Georgia this year that was really good, but then he went 18/36 after that.

Really, just make him fit that window over and over again and he'll make a mistake. But you have to play the receivers close, like we've been in the last few games being aggressive and challenging them.

If we give him easy passes, he will take them. Honestly, just double up the guys on the outside with safeties (if we can successfully stop the run( and force his throws to the center of the field, eventually he will throw picks.

We will have two deep a lot more this game instead of one deep. Which should help out some. Davis needs to cool it with jumping shorter routes and remember he is the last line of defense in cover 1.

I hate to be that guy but: That was way more to do with luck than it was a consistent thing with him.

He basically just threw it as hard as he possibly could and Tennessee misjudged the distance, which is normal because most QBs don't have that type of arm.

Franks is talented enough to shred our pathetic secondary. Uf has got to put pressure on him or it’ll be a shoot out.

Depends. If they just stay deep we are fine. We jumped to many PA and short routes vs Georgia. With Franks arm I suspect they are preaching stay back to safeties. Force him to beat us over the middle and cut off deep routes. He will screw it up.

If he did that consistently, he would probably still be at Florida.

Like I said: Franks usually has one good pass a game, like real good. Good enough for you to say under your breath: "If he could do that every play, we'd win a national championship."

But for every pass that you have like that, I have an inexplicable pass into triple coverage where no one knows what the plan was, even Franks.

Good to have you back Straws.

I have to say that even watching those highlights, I don't miss Franks at all. He's been a great comeback story this year, but I think it's better for everyone he's doing it at Arkansas.

Also, has anybody admitted yet that you were right about Trask all along?

He is not accurate under pressure, Arky's O line is suspect. Gator D needs to turn up the heat and make Franks make snap decisions. Mistakes will happen!!!

Make Franks dink and dunk us. He will mess up. Come with A gap pressure.

Holy shite all of the pain from questionable decisions came back...

I'd say run some complex zone schemes on him, but our defense would be as confused as he is.

I also want to add on, and I'm surprised no one has mentioned it:

Mullen was his Quarterback Coach. We have a pretty genius level Quarterback developer who took Franks under his wing for several years.

Trust me, Mullen knows Franks' weaknesses, and will likely have the exact right defense we need to go after him. I still remember how Miami completely took him out of his game by making him roll to one side.

Mullen has that "film" +1,000 times more information since he's the one who pretty much taught him everything.

This is all true, but the question is which defense do we get? UGA or A&M lol

A&M hurt us a lot running at will, which won't happen again.

One dimensional Franks is not a recipe for success. Make him roll to his left all game and he'll pretty much screw up all day.

Watch how Miami loaded the right side of our line to force Franks to his left.
