How we can fix the defense.

We just kick an onside kick every single possession.
Shorter field, maybe we can get a turnover and at least the opposing offense will score faster so we can watch our offense for more time.

Get faster at linebacker
Sign 10 secondary players that are an upgrade (transfers, juco, higshcool) don’t care where they come from and do a complete overhaul in the secondary

Our defense is more talented than our offense.
This is all on coaching. Most of our promising players are young, but I just don't think Grantham has it in his heart to keep this up anymore.

The defense has pretty much all blue chips at underclassmen.
The players fricking us are all holdovers from McElwain.
Miller, Houston, Burney, Stiner, Wilson, etc. etc..
Miller and Houston are good on rush defense, but every McElwain era LB has been dogshit in coverage.

I said it before, I'll say it again:
Coaching matters.
The problem isn't dropped interceptions alone.
This defense is always out of place.
We don't tackle well.
The blitzes are poorly designed and easily identified.
The safeties are playing like 20 yards off of the ball.
Our DBs are basically playing 7 - 10 yards off of their receivers.
LBs are horrendous in zone and man to man.
Safeties are bad in everything. Literally every aspect of the game. Catching, covering, run support, angles.
This entire defense is broken, the players are bad, but when it is literally every facet of your defense that isn't working, that's 100% on Grantham.

Another thing I have noticed is that the defense just looks slow and un-athletic this year. Might be because of shortened training routines and camps this year.

Losing minds hardly, every complaint and call to make changes with this defense is overdue
