I hate to see a year wasted on Emory

but would it be wasted if Jalon is as advertised? within those 3-4 years, i'm sure mullen would already be recruiting a replacement. IMO, throw out the redshirt and get the reps in now with 4 games left with good competition. you don't want it to be a surprise for him next year at this point. he could surprised us.

It would be a waste to let him play in an extra game and a bowl. Let him play in South Carolina and FSU and redshirt. He still will get bowl practice which is far more important than the actual game itself

If we are going to start him, at home is the best ticket.

People saying 'okay we'll start him in the FSU and then the Bowl game' are either just stupid or have no idea what they're talking about.

I don't even think we should redshirt him, if he's here in 2021/2022 we have done something wrong. Now I think we have to give Franks his 5th/6th chance, but I don't think he should come back next year (even if it is a bit unfair.

If Emory doesn't see the majority of our snaps against FSU...I'm gonna lose my damn mind.

Was Trask named the starter ? Sucks his Florida career ends like this . Hopefully he will recover in time to transfer to a team where he can win the starting job .

No, he was listed as number 2 on the weekly depth chart

But if he was hurt running a trick play in practice, that tells me Mullen was at least going to play him even if not as the starter

Just a question, what makes you believe Jones is ready to play, if the coaches don't? Maybe he is or will be but apparently he hasn't been.

CDM will probably let him play a bunch next week vs. Idaho. And that in my opinion is a huge waste. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start any of the games and just gets the opportunity to come in and play 30%-40% of the time.

But I'm all for burning the redshirt, no point in handcuffing yourself at this point. He will have to be available in the bowl game just in case FF gets hurt. So may as well let him play in the next four games instead of just two.

Not only that, you can save his redshirt for a year just in case he gets hurt, too. Not everyone gets cleared for their fifth or much less common sixth year. However, like I said in the beginning of the year: Our backups need more time just in case the Franks Project doesn't work out.

Apparently no one could have predicted that.

Unfortunately, neither Trask nor Emory have had significant playing time and so we've come to this juncture wherein playing Emory is kind of worthless -- unless we're throwing away Franks next year.

If Mullen is so dead set on the redshirt, then I'm afraid our best choice is to just ride out Franks' year.
