I understand both arguments, but I’d personally like to see him run the offense for a half against Idaho (that means not hand off or run it himself every snap) and then have a big role in the bowl game. I get wanting to have him for FSU and the bowl, but I don’t think there will be a big role for him in the FSU game that we HAVE to have that can’t be run by Toney. Just my opinion that seems to be kinda in the minority

I have no idea why people think we should use him against our arch-in-state rival when he hasn't completed a single pass all season. I want to see someone else at Quarterback more than anyone (I can say with a certainty ) but Emory is no where near ready. Idaho I could see, and if he lights up the world then maybe he might take over for the FSU game.

I really think we wasted Toney, though, because I feel like while he's not a fit for Mullen's offense, he offers way (and I mean way) more of a threat to run the ball than Franks does -- who similarly doesn't fit the offense.

However, if Franks can learn to take the short passes and just fall forward he'll probably be good enough to win the next two games and we just wait for Emory to take over next year, or we run a dual-system with Emory and Trask with Jalon playing a small back up role.

Only thing i can think is maybe recruiting? Get him out there and hopefully he makes some plays against the Noles, i dunno.

Personally Id like to see him as much time as possible vs Idaho. Let him get some major time vs a team we should have little trouble with instead of a package here n there vs FSU

Hopefully our second string is in the game before long.

I'd love for him to come out and shine and do well, we really need some hope at the QB position and it's pretty much the Jonses.

A great day pitching it around the yard like Spurrier used to say would be a good thing in landing some offensive weapons

The problem with playing EJ in the cup cake game is that he is our backup QB, with the injury to Trask. It's not worth the risk playing him in that game and then if franks gets hurt and EJ has to play in the FSUcks game and the bowl game, him losing his red shirt. He has two games left to play and still red shirt, use him in the last 2, just in case.

I heard "may" be back for the bowl game. Not worth the risk unless you want to gamble with EJs red shirt.

I agree with the risk of losing a redshirt and if he plays in the Idaho game, then if Franks gets hurt...he loses a year for nothing really....cause unless Trask could play in bowl game, Emory would play in 5 games.

I would let Emery get some experience in the Idaho game incase we need him for FSU. If he has to play against FSU because Franks gets injured, fine. If Trask is ready he gets the bowl game start, if not put Toney in and run a lot of read option. Let him throw some, he was a qb in high school. You can save the redshirt by doing all that.

Quit trying to make Trask happen. It's not going to happen.

I agree, whether it's bad luck with injuries or he just doesn't fit the offense, I don't think he will ever start at UF.

One broadcaster said he spoke with some UF coaches and they all told him something to the effect of once Emory starts, the job is his. So we’ll heve Emory, Jalen and all the rest. I could see Franks being hard headed and sticking around next year but with Trask he may wanna go ahead and start fishing around. Franks will leave next yr imo unless Jalen comes in and just takes his reps this offseason then he may leave earlier.

Cardozo and Crucial have said if Emory takes over one game the job is his multiple times on their radio show the last few weeks. They made the impression that this was from the coaching staff. Cardozo is a UF employee and a part of the UF media. His job is to be a mouth piece for the coaching staff.

IF Emory is ready, i have no problem with him starting. I read that the coaches had talks with him and his family and they are ready to go ahead and burn his RS which I could see. I said this earlier in the season, If Emory comes out and plays great, he’s gone in a few years and he he comes out and plays bad we have Jalen who ppl are saying is better so either way... the RS isnt as big a deal as it used to be especially if the player is ready.

If EJ is ready and gives us the best chance to win, I have no problem supporting starting him. Apparently this hasn't been the case, or he would have been playing more. Franks last year, was a perfect example of playing a QB that wasn't ready to play. Our coaches, i hope, are smarter than that! Go Gators.

I think it’s best to use him against FSU and in the bowl game . He could give the offense a spark if its struggling. It also makes FSU game plan for him .
