Categorically false.

Average Yards Per Attempt: 9.8

Average Yards Per Attempt Adjusted: 10.9

Trask was throwing the vast majority of his passes downfield, this was not a Feleipe Franks offense.

I'll reiterate: It's not about making bombs anymore, it's about consistently finding the right matchups, and making those matchups with a running QB is a lot easier because it forces another defender in the box.

Mac Jones was throwing to Heisman Caliber receivers with a Heisman caliber running back -- that blueprint only works when that's being done. His life was made extremely easy, because all he had to do was pick the one on one and he knew his guy would almost always come down with it.

We can emulate that with a running QB, because it will definitely start opening up the WRs. Trask broke records without a running game and didn't bomb it every play. It can be done in other ways.

This. Which is why I will believe in Emory till proven otherwise. Mullen is genius at getting the most out of his QB. Jones has a ton of physical gifts. I refuse to give up on him simply because he struggled vs OU with all the back ups in as Trask did. I also remember him going into a close game vs a stellar Auburn defense and leading a strong drive when Trask went down.

Let him have his shot before our dumb arse fans already cancel the freaking kid. He has been patient. Was highly touted out of high school(Urban Meyer wanted him if you remember as well). He is quick, has a strong arm, and a good head on his shoulders shown by his ability to wait patiently. We will see about the rest this season..but I believe in him for now.

Good luck with that. NegaGators gonna be negative. I am not sold on EJ but willing to give him a chance.

I only base my thoughts on what I've seen on the field, but it isn't a great sample size and he usually took snaps to run the ball.

He might be a very capable QB....we have games in the past with less talented QBs...the formula is a strong run game and a stout defense.
