Some people are claiming Lane told someone big connected to UF he is coming here and if he doesn't he straight up lied to that person. I am assuming that would be Spurrier or some former player. We will see I guess.

Ali Peek. She is somewhat connected and has Urban on her show from time to time. Likely a more credible podcaster, as far as they can be credible.

Ride out this wave and have some fun.

UF has done this the right way.

Imagine what creates the most splash at this point and note where all the attention is right now.

Splash!

But yes, as always…until ink hits paper nothing is a done deal.

There should not be any announcements today. Or tomorrow. Or the next day.

Who do you think she is implying - Spurrier or Meyer?

I don't think she indicated either of them specifically. She just said "several people".

Honestly, him staying at Ole Miss would probably be the biggest shock. But I take your point.

UF has been very quiet.

That was on purpose.

I mean, I definitely see the angle. IF it all goes down, I look forward to serving my sentence with all of you when the ban hammer is dropped.

Interesting that you never see Turnkey mentioned.

I think they are behind the strategy.

One would hope that paying a firm millions yields a better result than a circus that includes public comments from the governor.

After that press conference I think Lane is heading here and bringing QB Simmons with him.

Didn't USC use them in 2021 to hire Riley?

I believe that's right. Apparently we used them to hire Golden as well.

I hear they were given a blank check to do their thing.

Their order was to just get it done.

USC also used them for hiring their AD's and other admin:

Q&A: Where does the USC athletic director search stand? Vetted candidates and more
quote:

In the fall of 2019, the USC athletic director job was not drawing the industry’s best and brightest. The Trojans were saddled with an embattled football coach in Clay Helton, and they were coming off the embarrassment of the “Varsity Blues” scandal, plus several other highly publicized scandals across the university. It had been more than a generation since the USC athletic department was led by an experienced administrator rather than a former Trojan football hero.

Folt hired TurnkeyZRG to present and vet candidates. After about two months, Turnkey landed on Bohn, the Cincinnati athletic director, right around the time when some internal investigations into Bohn’s behavior were starting at his current school, Times reporting later revealed. Turnkey did not detect any major red flags during its vetting, which made it surprising to some at USC when questions were raised about Bohn’s behavior while leading the department.

And I also think we used them to hire Todd Golden.

Odd to me we used their services just after the Napier hire. The admin wouldn't have known how the Napier regime would work out at that point. I wonder what made us go with Turnkey for our basketball hire given we didn't use them for football months earlier.
