I do agree the coaching has been crap. So I guess we'll have to see about what Napier does with S&C, if anything, and what the impact will be with some needed staff changes.

Etienne is an amazing player. I would really hate to lose him. But I think there are a lot of RB's who could succeed in our system. I don't think he meaningfully changes our trajectory next year. He has flaws such as an inability to pass block. Someone like EWIII transferring would be much worse in my opinion.
Shemar on the other hand is the most important player on defense. Losing him cost us games at the end of the season. Losing him to the portal without any potential replacements would pretty much ruin any optimism I had going into next year.

Seems like Higdon's rumor was mostly just that: a rumor.
There might have been some talks about ETN thinking about hitting the portal or getting an offer to transfer, but it seems like it's mostly hearsay.
Rudner said he "heard some stuff" but hasn't made any official statements. I think if he hears anything substantial, he'll say something. Higdon talks out his arse all the time.

Etienne's family lives in Jacksonville. I think/hope this is all just a rumor.

Higdon did say 1-2 days ago that a player got an NIL offer from another school that was "double" what we paid him.
He said the player turned it down, but my hypothesis is that that player was ETN and he's talking to Napier about NIL, probably to get more.
It sucks, but that's the reality of CFB in 2023.
