I updated yesterday for the guys that are coming in 2019. When it hits early national signing day I'll start the 2020 thread since we already have some moves coming from there.

5* DT Georgia commit Travon Walker is taking an official this weekend. Not sure what is happening, but UGA is struggling on the trail.:) dude could walk onto campus and start.

They still have a loaded class.

Hopefully all of the rumors are true about shite going down between players and recruits.

He could do the same at UGA.

But we've shown that the best will play Have you looked at our depth chart? It's filled with freshmen and sophomores.

Fields begs to differ. Also, that's part of the problem: When you're a younger team, most of those guys are coming back next year plus their backups.

Your depth chart.

You guys have three freshmen starting, which means that they will start next year, and you guys don't have the prestige of Alabama just quite yet which might make it hard to wait.

Especially with how bad the playcalling on offense has been and giving up nearly 500 yards against LSU on defense.

Mediocre playcalling + players who are young and growing into the system = Recruits want to look where they can actually play.

It's definitely not helping that your #1 QB recruit's (last cycle) dad has been talking about how it's 'hard' to play the best Quarterback when they're younger and mentioning Alabama.

I mean, this is all moot, though, because Georgia fans nary accept any criticism toward their team that isn't glowing and dynasty talk.

Fields hasn't said squat about it.

Unless the incoming freshmen are better and take their jobs.

You're cherry picking one game here

Well, then why didn't it stop us the two previous years? High school kids all think they're all going to be the best player on the team.

What's with the personal attack man, we're just talking football. I haven't said anything negative about Florida.

His dad has, and if you think he and Fields aren't close or that they haven't had the discussion I think that's naive.

Easy to promise, very difficult to prove. I wouldn't say they've proven it, and I don't think you can blatantly ignore two five star offensive players getting out of dodge.

Nah, this is called a trend. We'll say over 450 yards just to prove a point:

2016: 471 by Missouri.
2016: 510 by Ole Miss.
2016: 465 to ULL.
2017: 488 by Auburn.
2017: 531 by Oklahoma.
2017: 321 to Alabama for one half when Tua came in.
2018: 475 to LSU.

Florida Gators 2006 - 2008:

2 games.

Alabama last three years:

1 game.

So what's the excuse for Georgia? At some point it'll be easy to negatively recruit and say that Kirby just doesn't have the x's and o's to be successful.

Unless you don't think he's had enough talent the last few years?

Bama mouth, Vandy NC trophy case.

I'll trust my people over at Harrison that say father and son are fine with how things are right now. Justin wasn't promised a starting spot but when they went and watched the spring game his senior year they both thought he could walk in and beat both Eason and Fromm.

It's easy to prove. Look at the amount of guys who are starting or getting serious playing time that have come in the last three years. Hazelwood wants to be featured in a passing offense which he's not going to get at UGA and Emery, well it's tough to keep kids from Louisiana and there are some other rumors floating around that I won't bring up because they're rumors.

2016: 465 to ULL. 1st year
2017: 488 by Auburn. arse whipping
2017: 531 by Oklahoma. Great offense
2017: 321 to Alabama for one half when Tua came in.
2018: 475 to LSU. arse whipping and played like crap

So 7 times through 36 games and only once this year. Plus we're still 14th in the nation in yards this year and were 4th in the nation last year. Doesn't seem like it's too strong of a trend.

We were 4th last year in points per game and we're 12th this year defensively while we're 2nd in the league for points this year. We have some flaws with play calling but we can point to those things to counter the X's and O's part. Negative recruiting will always happen regardless of the school. Even Alabama has people use things against them.

Vandy has a national title?

By the way, we're off topic on this and I don't want to much up your recruiting thread. I suggest we start another thread after the season.

But Walker could start day one at UGA with what we currently have and will be bringing back next year. He would definitely be heaving in our rotations which we prefer to do with DL so that they're all fresh for the second half.

L O L. Right, man. Justin Fields' dad is talking about how hard it is to play the best QB and you think they're fine with it.

We call these excuses around these parts. Or at least that's what everyone has said about Mullen.

quote:

Compared to once by Alabama for the last 3 years and twice to Florida in their title run.

I think in the end I'm saying: Kirby doesn't have a championship offense or defense, and it's getting harder to sell each time he gets exposed by teams who actually have offenses.

You said: "Oklahoma had a really good offense." Florida played one of the most prolific Oklahoma offenses of all time in 2008 and held them to 14 points.

By all means, start another thread -- but obviously this being the Florida board we're not going to ignore some serious, egregious holes in Kirby's model that are going to get exposed sooner or later.

I must have missed that part about excuses for Mullen. You can call them whatever you want but that's Hazelwood's reason for sure and like I said with Emery it's a rumor.

Maybe, but just like Mullen this year, I'll give him a pass for the first year games since they were installing a new offense and defense.

quote:

Well, we're clearly not on that level yet although I felt like we were last year.

Dude, all I did was say Walker could start for us on day one and you went off the deep end. We're 20-2 over the last two years. I'm enjoying the ride and the future looks pretty bright for us.

20 - 3

Auburn
Alabama
LSU.

It makes me wonder what Georgia's record would be like if they had played in the West instead of the East.
