I will say this: If we miss on both Pittman and Steele, not one or the other, but if we go 0/2, it's going to be very, very hard to rope me back in for the future.

We had better have a very solid plan B.

The first time I got really upset with Mullen was when we let Corral go to Ole Miss. I feel like Corral, a lifetime QB in and out of QB camps his entire tenure at HS would have been far more available than Jones.

I just really, really hope we round up our recruits by AUgust 1st.

I get what you’re saying about having guys roped in around the start of fall camp, but I think a lot of these kids are going to wait.

I wish we could get some to commit because that would open the flood gates.

The way we win the first few games will say everything. If we come out guns blazing with high points then it’s smooth sailing. Obviously what I’m saying are some major fricking IFs.

The Gators Breakdown Podcast was attempting to say that on-field results don't impact recruiting -- but they only talked about Bluechips. I think if you limit it to ONLY blue chips, then obviously the numbers don't change that much -- however, most classes don't end up with a vast majority of their class being bluechips, and having on the field success (especially over the span of a few years) is exponentionally better.

I personally think if we have a really strong year, we can have a very strong bump class. However...we can't waste too much more time waiting for guys to pop. Fortunately, those two are supposed to commit in July, but the second portion of this: Gators fans have got to get a grip. We're already upset with a coach and he hasn't been here for even a year. He hasn't even coached a game and we have people losing their shite.

The fanbase can be really caustic.

That’s why he has to show it on the field. Wins will calm the fan base imo.

A good offense, ~top 50 like 2005, will go a long way to calm the fanbase. With our talent on defense, we would be a good team that should win a lot of games.

The biggest fault I see in the staff is a large part of the staff recruiting Cali. UF will be able to pick off a player here and there but having 2 or 3 guys on staff that focus on California is a mistake IMO. UF needs to focus on Florida (especially Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville), pick off players in Georgia, and then go national for special players that show interest.

Currently, an OL, Pittman and Steele are the Cali players and we're very fortunate that the wait for two of them should be next month. However...

Replacing those two targets will be a bit difficult. The third, the OL will be alright. The OL alway has more parity than WR and CB.

Ethan Rae is from Cali as well.

I had forgotten about Rae, too. A lot of people have them in their mock class but I'm not too sure.

I know Billingsly got upset over Krull, but I don't think we could have said no to a 6'7'' 255 TE 4* transfer.

At this time I feel good about Rae and Pittman.

I think Steele is staying home.

I really, really want Steele, man. I love Pittman and even Rae, but we need a guy like Steele.

I still feel "good" or at least like Florida has a chance -- especially after seeing that the reporter was not only quoting a third source but apparently had no idea that Steele had shot a video.

If we could go 3 / 4 (including Tamamauamaau or whatever) on the West Coast I think that would shut a lot of people up.

I want Steele also, but USC and most Pac12 mods think he is for sure USC bound. I wouldn’t get my hopes up on him or Pittman. Mullen needs to steer this recruiting ship back to Florida. We have all we need in state, and if it takes replacing a couple of coaches to get more Florida ties then so be it. I’m not sure what we are doing trying to be Alabama and recruiting nationally when we really need to just get back to being Florida and using our fast Florida athletes.

I agree about needing to focus on Florida.

If the Cali gambit does not work, Mullen needs to pull the plug next year. Pittman, the OT and/or Rae, if not Mullen needs to go a different direction.

If things go bad, it could be like Mac hiring Jhova and Dixon while focusing on So Fl instead of UF's traditional areas of Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and South Ga.

Guy on Gator Country who is friends with his dad said UF is probably ahead but he doubts he commits before the end of July. This kid is an excellent student. Stanford and OSU are probably our biggest competition here.

According to the prediction timeline, it looks like the people who thought Texas are flipping to UF. Texas was the favorite. Stanford is staying even.

Seeing what I can see it looks like an OSU person CBed UF yesterday. I can not see what Blake and Stampini CBed today.

Higgins just showed up to an event wearing a Florida hat which is why everyone is freaking out a little.

Personally, Stampini lost a lot of confidence over the last few weeks. I don't think TOO much into it, but I think we have a solid chance at him as well.

Even if he's just rocking our gear, it doesn't hurt. July is going to be a solid month for us.

He might be one of the biggest jokes in the recruiting game and there are a lot of lowlifes. He has no sources besides what other writers from different 247 sites bring him.

How he handled the situation with HeismanGator scooping him and how UncleSilk was outpredicting him is hilariously egotistical. With Heisman, he deleted all of his posts then later repost the same info. Also got UncleSilk removed from CBs on 247 because Silk was 12 out of 13 or something like that.
