Not knocking them..just facing reality. We have a lot lacking on defense. Will struggle some games. Just reality.

That entire defense is coming back with a better S&C coach and finally, FINALLY some back ups if we fill our positions needs this year. If they can hold Texas A&M to under 300 yards and 20 points, they can hold anyone to less than that with suitable back ups and players who are actually in their correct positions. It took Gardner all year to learn the safety position, and I look forward to seeing him go back to CB and having an actual dime package.

given how bad the offense was last year, the defense did fairly well. not the dominate performance we're used to, but we'll be good defensively. better than last year i would presume.

getting an oline together and hoping emory is more hurts and less franks will be the key to the season. defense will be fine.

If a coach actually watch your footwork I know he wants you badly. And on my in-home visit with coach Gonzales he actually studied my game of playing. ??????

Copeland

Getting Copeland back would be massive. If we get him our WR position is set for the next two years adding in the Transfers.

I'll be so happy if we land all three offensive lineman we are after as well. All top 100 players. Would be a huge finish to the class.

Obviously linebackers are needed. We got one good one but would be nice for a surprise or two on that side of the ball.

The Gonz is actually a really good WR coach, and it's starting to show. But, with Copeland? I don't trust his Twitter at all.

It showed when he was here before. At LSU as well.

Dude is a top tier WR coach.

Agreed, I just meant that he's finally going to have the talent to go along with his skill. If anyone can rope Copeland back in, it'll be Gonzales.

The good news is that Copeland doesn't like FSU or Georgia.

Yeah, starting to feel really, really confident that Copeland comes back. Schwarz also said we're in his top 3 and will decide.

I put together the class I think we get. I may miss a few but just going on feeling.

Petit-Frere - Five Star OT
Emory Jones - Four Star QB - top 50
William Barnes - Four Star OT - top 50
Jacob Copeland - Four Star WR - top 100
Richard Gourgie boy - Four Star OT - Top 100
Kyle Pitts - Four Star TE - top 250
Amari Burney - Four Star safety - top 250
Dameon Pierce - Four Star RB - top 250
Trey Dean - Four Star S - Top 250
Iverson Clement - Four star ath
David Reese - Four star OLB
Dorian Gerald - Four star DT
Noah Jefferson - Three Star DT - High rated one
Randy Russell - Three star S
Josh Huggins - Three star S
Chris Bleich - 3 Star OT
Noah Banks - 3 star OT
Dante Lang - 3 Star TE
Corey Gaim - 3 star WR
Evan Mcpherson - 2nd overall kicker - 3 star

Add in two top 100 receiver transfers.

Would be a hell of a first class, and none of the ones I added in are reaches at all.

UF would have at this time with those adds a top ten overall class. With less than 25 players. Would have one of the top player ranking averages as well. Not including basically recruiting a five and four star receiver as well.

If we can surprise and add someone else, even better. My biggest surprise want is obviously Surtain. Don't really see any LBer's we have a strong shot with. Chatfield is the closest I suppose but feel like he probably sticks with Miami. If he comes to us, and we land these guys above we are projected for...we have an amazing first class.

-Our offensive line is sure'd up with both talent and depth.
- Our WR corps is as good as it's been in a long arse time. Easily one of the best in CFB.
-RB group adds another talented piece.
-Sure up the desperately bad TE position
-Got the QB of the future possibly. Highest rated Mullen has had since Tebow I believe...so yea...good chance he succeeds.

We add decent depth to the defensive line, but not anyone that looks elite. Just more of a depth year
Get one good LBer...need more but can only do so much
Add depth to the safety position we really need

Add a top tier kicker.

It's not perfect...but that would be a very, very good start. We need a lot of defense next year. Certainly lacking in a lot of areas...but this class could build the offense of the future for UF.

Watch for Quay Walker, Xavier Peters, Coynis Miller, Mario Goodrich, and one other wide receiver.

All of those guys are visiting Florida.

If we land Copeland and one other wide out we are good. Remember both transfers have two years left in them as well. So don't know that we need to add more and more of them. I'd rather get low hanging fruit LB's and DB's and hope one is a hidden gem at this point.

straw...you might wanna have a parachute flying that Trask banner. From video clips I've seen of Trask..he has a slow delivery and an average arm.

Straw has to hype someone up and hope they get the job after spending this hole year trashing Franks . He knows if Franks is the starter with a real offensive mind calling plays that Franks could do well. Unless Jones is a freak and ready to start day one then we should start thd best QB likely Franks and redshirt Jones or give him a few plays a game like Mullen did with Tim .

Disagree. I'm on the let Jones go day one.

Brian Johnson and Mullen are very, very good at QB development. They know how to develop, guide, and teach. So Jones learning on the go would probably be the best for the future.

Next year is about growing, and building to the future. Get the young guys in that fit the system, and let them learn how to win.

Oh, terrified. I'm so scared that the guy who can't read the defense, can't check down, can't react to a blitz, can't keep his eyes down the field, and when he does put his eyes downfield it's to stare down his receiver, who has twice as many turnovers as touchdowns, who has 50 yards rushing the entire season, who doesn't know when to throw it away, who has no pocket presence, who doesn't know when to scramble.

It'll be Trask or Jones, and I'm positive it will be Jones at this point, especially if we start to see other guys committing because of him.

I have no idea why you guys want to try and hype up Franks when he has never shown any capacity to understand the QB position at a fundamental level. Even in High School, he has the same problems as he does now (just watch his highlight video, for the love of god, please, just watch it).

Can't wait to see Emory Jones light it up.

We haven’t seen anything from jones at this point either. Let’s face it, Mac and Nuss weren’t the QB whisperers we all thought they were. I’m gonna rule out judgement until the spring game.

It's not even about that, though, it's not about not having good coaching. He has zero coaching. He doesn't show any signs of knowing even Playstation Football.

He is not a fricking quarterback, and the sooner we move on and accept this reality the easier this thread is going to be.

If Roper and Muschamp have a good quarterback, we know they didn't develop him. We know that he was just naturally good at the position, something Franks cannot say.
