Why would you give up on Copeland? I think he wants to be at Florida ultimately, and now that we are running Mullen’s scheme he is perfect for the Percy position. Emory is going to recruit him hard as well I believe.

I think he does as well, but I also think that he likes to play. I don't see him at Alabama, but for some reason I just don't know if we can keep stringing this along.

All signs have been to Bama lately..but I won't give up hope till it happens.

Not if you check his Twitter. It's been pretty consistently Gators, he even talked a ton of shite to FSU. I have no idea where he'll end up, because he just seems to love to talk to all the coaches, but I wouldn't be surprised either way.

I agree, Jones is the key to luring Copeland back

They apparently are hitting it off if Twitter is anything skrong.

With all of these new WRs, does Toney become the backup QB??
Wonder what Dan has planned for him

ESPN’s 30 for 30 presents..
‘From McElwain to Mullen’

Toney is likely a package type of player. He won't be on the field every single play, but he'll likely be involved in a lot of different looks. Really, it'd be nice to get him 20 touches, but the reality of the matter is that if he gets ten but they're big touches, that's what we need from him.
It sucks because we're about to be so stacked at receiver we will have trouble figuring out how should be playing and who should not. I just hope we see Toney.

From country crock to caviar: how the Florida gators churned lies, Chasing Chip Kelly and mediocrity into winning a title.

Im sure he ll get his touches, too much of an electric player not to

This.
Guy simply makes people miss.
Here's a thought....return man. People keep saying Harvin, but he isn't Harvin. He could be Brandon James though, but with Harvin packages during games.

He'll get his touches, but he has got to get his weight up, because right now he's too small for SEC football. Well, maybe with better S&C we'll see it change so idk.
But I don't think he's going to ever be a ''feature'' receiver like Cleveland or really any of the other guys coming in if only for his size.
I really want to be wrong, because I think he's one of our best players on offense.

HE won't be because he doesn't have the true receiver skill set like CLeveland does.
He also will gain weight. Let's not forget our training program was down right dreadful.
Savage should put weight on most of the team this offseason. I expect to see major improvements in that regard which should help players like Toney and Davis.

Toney is like a pure bred race horse with spinely legs and cleat catching stop & go. Weight will not benefit him much, but strength in the lower/upper body will.
He may not ever be an every down WR in the NFL...but he could provide some explosive plays for us with short passes....and will risk injury with too many touches imo. He has to be managed and made part of package plays that give him the best opportunity to use speed and elusiveness that no one else possesses on our roster.

Yep, that's my take as well. I don't think it's much as putting on weight as much as it is just improving his ''toughness''. His strength is his mobility, but the problem is we need to get him on the edge -- which is possible if Malik Davis is even half the back we think he is. If Davis/Lemmons/Pierce can get it going, then Toney becomes a lot more dangerous. All he needs to do is make one guy miss and he's gone.
But he is definitely not an all-down WR, and if our WRs can play right away (and there's every indication that they probably will in my humble opinion), then it'll be:
Cleveland, Massey/Grimes (slot), Van Jefferson.
shite, who knows how much Hammond and Swain improves over this Summer with Gonzales?
All I can say is that Toney might even be better off just taking a Redshirt next year because we'll have so many good players at skill positions.

Straws at it again come on man Toney taking a red shirt. this is more silly than the AA board members son saying chip was a done deal.
Grimes may not get the hard ship and even if he does he has caught 3 passes for 20 yards not in a game but a whole season and what in the world has Massey done in 2 seasons other than get hurt and if Hammond and Swain improve i guess they can't get worse.Toney did more in one game than these 4 guys has done there whole time in college football.
The guy has something you can not teach the stop on a dime put your foot in the ground and make people miss that is the type of talent you find ways to put the ball in his hands not take out his hands by red shirting him.
You can all disagree I don't care but we need as many skill players at any position we can get our hands on and to not get the ball in the hands of a guy that can turn a 3 yard out into a 25 yard gain is someone I want to touch the ball as much as we can get it there.

It depends on how well his body goes with camp.
Van Jefferson and Grimes both have bigger, stronger bodies and are capable receivers. Toney barely played in a lot of games due to injuries -- whether or not that can be corrected is left to be seen. He may indeed need a year to get his strength up while actual receivers run routes.

Which is less silly than ''Norvell to Florida''.

toney could just as well line up at rb, which may be the position with the most potential for him. eric metcalf jr. and shite.
