if the recruiting class stopped TODAY, we'd have the highest ranked transitional class we've ever had.
Just saw this posted elsewhere. Thats pretty neat isnt it...

BTW, props to whoever the gator fans were sitting near my table at the 680 event in Atlanta... good dudes. Took some good natured ribbing in stride and gave it back without acting like douches.

Hey guys. What are yall hearing about Van transferring? Will he be able to play right away or think he will have to sit a year?
Or is it as simple as he has to put his waiver in and hope for the best?
I can get no confirmation from the OM side. So curious as to what ya’ll were hearing.

I don't think anyone really knows, to be quite honest. Would the NCAA or Ole Miss have to make the decision/protest? I'd think they'd probably let it go.

Both Van and the OM QB are expected to be able to play

Yeah beacuse I was thinking: Usually they block players from transferring to other SEC schools, so I'm pretty sure this is being looked at as a 'special' case.

Definitely a good haul for a short window for you guys. I think landing EJ was HUUUUGE for Mullen. Even if he RS's next season, getting a guy in the program and learning the system with Mullen and his staff coaching him will be awesome for you guys. I legitimately think it's the difference between a coaching search in 3-4 years and Mullen having high quality teams by year 3 (at the latest... if EJ ends up ahead of the curve I think he'd be at, could be sooner).

We need to get back to the piss balloon throwing level of Gator fans.

Basically added a 4 and 5 star WR to the team that wont count on recruiting rankings.
Dan is rollin !!!

So
Jones - Highly touted QB
Two top 100 receivers - Both transfers, but neither may sit out a year
A top Oline JUCO guy
Two well rated safeties
2nd ranked kicker in the nation(please argue that isn't important)
Signed the players he wanted to keep outside of a couple who left because of asst coaches
Things are starting to click here...Amazing what you can do when at UF and not MIss State.

As much as I want to hate you...I'd have a beer with you in Jacksonville.

New #Gators QB @eXjones6 told me on Wednesday he was recruiting @Trevongrimes8 to Florida. Jones got his guy.

2018 JUCO 4Star DE Dorian Gerald will take an official visit to Florida on Feb. 2nd #AllBite18 #ToTheSwamp

Damn we are going hard for JUCO's.
Mullen is looking to win immediately lol

When you add in the transfers class calculator scores of Jefferson 24.55 and Grimes 24.05, Florida would be at 274.79. Currently #4 in the nation.
Just fyi if they counted. Doesnt include the DL we have from last yr wholl play

I wasn't kidding when I said we were starting, literally, 20 underclassmen (I think it ended up being) by the FSU game. Most of the older guys were hurt, suspended or not playing.
Next year will probably be a monster class if Mullen can win, if only because a lot of these guys are going to be about ready to leave.

We got a lot of talent already on the roster and just had underclassmen in the back seven and they will get better...much better. Need a kick arse special teams coach to turn that dumpster fire around on coverage and returns.
It is so important that we have great return/coverage game that you cant even imagine...one helps the offense greatly by preventing all the damn possession starts we had at 17, 14, 12 yd lines and the other keeps teams pinned up inside their 20 if theres not a kickoff into end zone.
I am ALL in on JUCOs...some wont pan out but some explode and help us win...a JUCO has already grown up and is used to being away from home (sometimes FAR away). They want to play at the next level for the most part and just need to be decent students.

What kills me is that as bad as the stats were, our defense actually did pretty solid for most of the year. Who can blame them for giving up when their offense continually bends them over and fricks them.
This isn't a Franks thing, but my God they were on the field a lot this season (like every season) and the only difference was that we had no backups.
Gardner progressed well throughout the season, and you could sort of see it when we played against FSU. (I was dogging Gardner all year) The linebackers have literally no depth and their backups are walkons.
People have given up way too early on the defense, and really Mullen just needs to start giving us first downs again -- and I believe with his style we will be able to. That's the big one, letting our defense rest for 2018 because I have no idea what the depth is going to be.
Next year's class will probably be heads and shoulders above what we got this year -- and that whole ''Dan Mullen is a lazy recruiter'' is being put to rest. Turns out, MSU just sucks as a school.
For special teams: I really hope our Kicker doesn't come in as a head case and that he just gives us three more years of what we had with Eddie. No dropoff at punter, and coverage? Well, I think we might finally be getting some athletes who will get down the field to actually cover.

I've pretty much given up on Copeland because he just loves to troll but he's giving a lot of love to the Gators -- but he's been tweeting a lot of Gators stuff and even tweeted Jones.
