Seems like we don't really want Corral. If we did Mullen would have visited him personally like he did Fields. Sucks.. But Dan knows what he wants in a Qb and maybe Corral just isn't it?

I believe Mullen has plans to visit Corral later on -- they were saying that he didn't want to go all the way out to Corral because he had a cluster of recruits he wanted to talk to in the SE. Unfortunately, California isn't a place where we draw a lot of recruits. He'd basically just be flying out for only Corral, and while I'd like him to do so, it's not strategically convenient.

If he wants Corral. Corral is the most important member of this class. You prioritize that.

Also really hope we get Chase or Copeland back.

Is there any of Mullen recruiting any other QBs other then Fields . Maybe Gerry Bohanon or Quincy Patterson . Both a bigger dual threat QBs . I wonder how many QBs they would want in this class with us already having 3 on the roster .

We need two I think.

I'm worried about defense. We need a lot more depth on defense

Update on visits.

This weekend (Dec. 8-10)

S/LB Amari Burney - 4* Florida commit
S Randy Russell - 3* Florida commit, but I think he may get a 4th star soon
OL Christian Meadows - 4* committed to FSU and a MAJOR target of this staff.
OL Chris Bleich - 3* UF commit
RB Dameon Pierce - 4* UF commit
K Evan McPherson - committed to Mississippi State and one of the top kicker/punter prospects in the country.

Next weekend (Dec 14-17)

S Trey Dean - 4* that just decommitted from Tennessee. Has shuffled his visits around and was originally scheduled to visit UF and then Kentucky, but swapped those two. Never a bad thing to get the last visit from a guy planning to sign and enroll early.
CB Brendan (Bookie) Radley-Hiles - 4* and longtime Gator target. He has some huge programs looking in his direction, but he is friends with a number of our guys. Undersized but off the charts athleticism. If he were 3 inches taller, would likely be ranked up there near Patrick Surtain and Tyson Campbell.
WR Marquez Ezzard - 4* former FSU commit. Before the coaching change, I think he was ready to flip to UF. He is a bigtime athlete and would be a huge addition for us.
WR Kevin Johnson Jr. - 2* out of IMG and originally from New Jersey area. Some have speculated that this offer was made because he is friends with 5 star Penn State commit Justin Shorter, but I don't buy that. I also don't think it's a committable offer.
OL Jerome Carvin - 3* out of Memphis area and a major target of ours. Looking at Auburn, Mississippi State, and Tennessee as well. If Jerome and family are ok with the distance, I think he will commit that week.
OL Noah Banks - 3* JUCO player committed to Arkansas and originally from Pensacola. He is also being heavily pursued by Nebraska and Auburn.
TE Glenn Beal - 3* out of Louisiana. One of the early offers for Mullen when he got to UF.
QB Terry Wilson - 3* JUCO player that was originally committed to Oregon and recruited by Scott Frost out of high school. Nebraska is the heavy favorite here, but Wilson has the size and running ability to fit well into Mullen's offense. Him following through with this visit and making it past his official visit to Nebraska Dec. 9 without committing there would be a good sign in our direction though.
TE Kyle Pitts - 4* UF commit
RB Iverson Clement - 4* UF commit

Wish there weren't so many three stars but oh well. First class always gets a pass for me.

Bookmarked... Get ready for some Mullen specials.

I'm half kidding... I fully anticipate him to recruit better at UF than he did at MSU, but just not sure how *much* better.

The difference is we're going after 3*s who are actually sought by other schools, so there's some sense of actually trying to compete for guys. I also don't think we're going to sign just 3*s from hereon out, I'm sure we're up for some surprises.

And if he can't recruit Florida better than MSU, maybe we're going to the dark aegs.

Honestly, I think Muschamp and McElwain have kind of ruined the brand thus far, and it might be harder to recruit this year especially. After next year we'll be back to recruiting well.

Corral at Ole miss now. A few CBs headed that way. Still hasn't met Mullen. He won't be in this class.

Don't freaking get caught up in stars...geez louise..look at the NFL and see how many 3 stars are on active rosters.

I want recruits who have burning desire to succeed and hate losing...have passion for football and wont be in trouble in Gainesville.

He’s a Gator, if Mullen didnt want him he wouldve told him to look elsewhere by now. Dan has been all over the place trying to bring in players of need who arent committed, he’ll meet Matt soon enough

Sorry but stars absolutely matter. Yes you can find gems, but the average indicates stars are important.

Five stars on average are better than four, four than three, three than two.

Notice Saban always goes after most five stars every year? Notice Meyer only selected a few three stars at Florida who seemed like gems?

You can't built a title team on three stars. Want proof? See every title winner since 247 started. End of the day. Stars matter. Great coaching can get you far, but not to the promise land. Unless you have the blue chips to compete with the other great coaches. Three stars don't win titles. Five stars do.

isn't it like every natty winner except clemson over the last decade had averaged a top 5 class in the preceding 3 years before winning the natty. clemson averaged 3 top 10 classes before theirs.

that's not an accident. especially on the oline and dline.
