You guys aren't understanding that this isn't about any of that. We're lucky Corral is a gamer and doesn't seem to care. It's not about ''oh Corral shouldn't have competition'', it's about:

We're risking a class over the #1 QB in the country when we have the #3 Pro-style (he's not full Pro, he's fast, too) -- it just makes no sense to even risk it. We have several quarterbacks on the roster, but going after the guy he directly competed for to go from #3 to #1 is retarded.

Corral is a leader, Fields would be a bandwagoner.

Corral has fortunately been a standup guy, but if he weren't we would have lost quite a few players.

i get what you're saying. corral isn't gonna leave the class if we get another qb. he thinks he's better and he very well may be.

it's got more to do with trusting mullen. i'm sure he talks to corral everyday now.

We are offering a shite ton of WR's right now. Holy crap. Extended four offers already. Not sure what's going on with Copeland. Haven't heard about any other offers but receivers so Billy is going to freaking work over there.

I understand the concern Straws. Just think Fields is just better at the position for the power veer.

We would run a similar style to Alex Smith and Chris Leak with Corral. Very good offense, would be more than happy.

We would have Tebow offense with Fields..so it's more of which you prefer. Fields will probably score more points.

it looks that way with them being true freshman. same offense just more options, perceived anyway, with fields til we see how they do against ramped up compettion.

You're missing one key point on Fields. He has said repeatedly that he doesn't want to be a running qb. He wants to beat teams with his arm, not his legs which is what he would have to do in Mullen's offense.

i think thats the ultimate goal of all dual threats, mostly.

the running ability just gives em time to play while they develop as passers. not that its always necessary. dak ran a lot less as he developed as a passer. still something handy to have in the tool box. deshaun watson is a good example.

He needs to use both. Can't remove one part of your game that is such a huge advantage. Lowers your value. Cam doesn't run as much, but still runs. Can do something similar. Mullen can hold off running the QB, but the threat of it has to be there for the veer offense to get outside the tackles properly and create big plays. Fields creates such a threat that you have to respect him every play. Huge advantage for the style of offense.

He will use both but he'll use his legs a lot more at UF. That's part of the reason he chose UGA. He'll still run it. Heck, Fromm ran it 40 times this year but Fields would take some of those to the house.

Florida ran a pro style offense when he picked. Auburn was very bad at the current time he picked and was word Auburn may be looking for a new coach when he committed.

Florida def should try for him. Mullen is the perfect coach for his skill set. If he doesn't want to use it, makes sense. But Mullen is no argument the perfect coach for a monster like Fields to utilize his talents fully.

Not claiming we get Fields, just saying we need to give it a shot. I never claim someone flips, till they actually do. I am not the kid, nor in the room they are being recruited in..so don't claim to know anything.

We have the #3/4 QB and we're going to risk him and everyone he's recruited for the #1? It's just not sound. We should be glad he just doesn't give a frick and is prepared to compete with anyone at any time, but if he was a different type of dude we'd be risking half our class for a quarterback who is maybe 2% better than the quarterback we already have.

Undoubtedly Fields is better coming out of high school, but we are desperate to have a leader -- and we have a recruit who is showing more leadership than the last six quarterbacks combined and we're slapping him in the face by going to court another quarterback who took one visit to Gainesville and said ''nope''.

I've agreed with Straws more than once today.

World ending tomorrow. Don't worry about QBs

It doesnt hurt to try. Yes, we have many needs but looks like today was “fix the offense day” for recruiters as they saw all offensive players they want

Im ready for the DC and that side of the ball to be filled so we can get some Backers / DTs

You have to try for Fields if you are Mullen. It’s an ideal “fit” for both parties. However, odds are stacked against Florida. Still have to give it a go though.
