Eh. I wonder if the FSU, UT or OM offers were committal. Weary of a kid with offers from Mercer, Albany, Famu, Southeast Missouri state and a host of low tier non P5 schools. He's a big body DT with long arms. Hope he's a diamond in the rough.

Mac has a lot to prove this year.
Not much more to say really.
Hopefully he knows more about recruiting than the recruiting sites.

Another good take by Florida in the 2017 class that definitely makes you question if we have a prospect ranked too low.
Largo (Fla.) Pinellas Park defensive tackle Jordon Scott gave his verbal to the Gators Wednesday night, a shade nose tackle at 6-foot, 350-pounds that racked up 88 tackles including 29 stops for loss and 10 sacks as a junior.
The word is Tampa high school coaches raved about Scott, who is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the nation’s No. 60 defensive tackle.
I find it hard to imagine there are 59 guys better than Scott who if he were 6-foot-2 would be as touted a prospect as an Aubrey Solomon.
Scott caught the eyes of the Florida staff last year in camp. The agility for a prospect as massive as Scott couldn’t be ignored and he turned it on in 1-on-1s. That agility certainly carried over to the Friday Night Lights where Scott plays low, strong and explosive. He certainly can hold the point of attack but how quickly he shoots thru gaps and into the backfield is what makes him a potential special player.
Watch these highlights and tell me this big boy ain't impressive as hell against big boy 7a ball he he's deceptively fast shoots thru gaps, str8 goon strenth and just abuses these poor quarterbacks
LINK
and did I mention he's an early enrollee great news there maybe he can talk a few others into doing the same whether it's bust arse in school or what ever
Would be nice to another good dt soon
maybe the jersey guy
2 more stud dl that could enrolle early

Our own gators question this kids ability after seeing his film? Shame
Star gazer mfers can't see a beast when It's obvious I guess
Here I'll link it one more time so anybody with the balls can tell what exactly is he missing in his gam other then another inch or 2 of height

Do you know how many 3*s UF signed between 2003-14 that made impacts at UF? In that time period UF signed 100 rivals ranked 3*s, with Medder, Codrington, Tartt, Trenton Brown, Louis Murphy, Jarrad Davis B James, Mo Hurt, Watkins, and a few other OL, etc. Were contributors. Most were OL, ST with Murphy, McCallister, Davis and BCj being impact players. 3/5
never did a thing here.
Meanwhile 4/5* UF players accounted for A heisman, 2 NCs, Countless AA/ASEC, 25 1-3rd rd draft picks. Yes some 3*s will be successful, there's thousands of them each year. Of the 31 5*s we've signed 27/31 contributed heavily and 11 were 1st rd picks.
If he can contribute great, but history says there's a slim chance that happens

So despite comprising less than 1 percent of all recruits, five-stars accounted for a quarter of 2015 first-rounders. Meanwhile, more than 90 percent of all recruits are designated as being three stars or less, yet their representation in the first round is nearly half that.
Put it this way: About one in four five-star recruits like No. 1 pick Jameis Winston goes on to become a first-rounder, but only about one in 64 three-star recruits like No. 2 Marcus Mariota does. Any generalizations about star-ratings that use NFL rosters as justification are giving disproportionate weight to the outliers.
Last year, SB Nation’s Bud Elliott examined why some two-star recruits still wind up becoming NFL stars.

Oh frick off ya buzz kill
Those national 247 guys praising him with no connection to UF
Also torrian gray, Chris rumph, randy Shannon are great coaches all of them maybe only 2/3 might be great recruiters but that's enough for the defense
We'll be sitting pretty come nsd watch

Great coaching only goes so far. You need talent. Bama has won 4 NCs with 3*s I forgot. Carry on.

Did You not hear the names gray and rumph? Both fantastic recruiters at DB and DL
While Shannon hasn't been great recruiter he's been a great lb coach no matter who he gets he turns em into studs
If U think we Can't land good amount of defensive talent your wrong flat out hell we might even have a great class

Why did we sign 8 3*s and just 4 4*s on defense after having a top 15 defense?
247 recruiter rankings. I have a feeling you won't like this:
LINK start from 05 and see where Gray and Rumph land. We've signed 35 3*s overall the last 3 years. Given our history above that is very Bad. Maybe we can be like Miss St or OM and be pretty good.

My friends at work are telling me we just stole one. He is going to be a run stopper. Anyone remember Robin Fisher? Or Tim Newton? I love nose tackles.

So you don't agree we have 2 big time recruiters in Rumph and Gray? Hell I like Dixon the WR coach a lot too after getting us the big wr haul we need desperately
Now we need big DB and DL hauls i think they pull it off

TJ...you are sooo consumed by stars and offer lists from other schools...give it a fricking rest....good thing Kerwin Bell was encouraged to walk on or Louis Oliver the walk on from Belle Glade who was AA Academic honors student. Oliver only turned in the BEST safety the Gators ever had. Shane Matthews wasnt highly recruited and you would have been a ranting lunatic about his 40 times. Jarrad Davis another 3* that you seem to dislike. Negative recruiting is all I see...gee, have we done anything right TJ? A real Gator (or LSU or UGA) fan wants their school to do well????? Give us some feel good thoughts. No?

Hey TJ, give it a fricking rest or head over to 247 with the rest of the star gazing morons. It's not worth having 1 shite head ruin the board environment for everyone. Thanks
Arguing about star ratings in June is meaningless. These things will change at least 8 more times before NSD.

The new DT commit has a 7'+ wing span. Let him play at 310-320.
