FSU has been stable for a long time. Changing HCs every 3-4 yrs causes pause in recruits.

We ll get there

This may end up being true (I'm skeptical) but currently we have or lead for only 2-4 players in the top 25, we're not just behind FSU amd even (at best) with the Canes, we're behind OSU, Bama and Clemson for to0 level Florida talent- Mac's biggest proboem is that he's boring and his vision is boring to recruits.

Hell our best chances of a good class are that Bama and FSU fill up with better players and we get leftovers they wouldn't/couldn't take.

That's not true.

It's not 100% the case, but there is some truth there.

I agree.

Both Slaton and Nick Smith have arrived for their visits FYI.

Recruiting sucks, coaches suck, sky is falling, recruiting sucks, we are doomed, coaches suck, recruiting sucks...did I miss anything Mr Montana?

Dont be so skepty man...its ok (oh you might be a woman? Dont know.)

I can counterpoint every single negative you bring up, dont bring fists to a gunfight when it comes to UF history and college football in general. We are going to be ok...reel gator says so! If not, well...then we change but dont expect even a 8-4 season this year (which should not happen) to result in a dismissal of Mac...aint gonna happen.

It would take a real bad season 4-8 or thereabouts to change HCs and Im not even sure that would do it. Mac is going to get at least 4 years whether any of us like it or not. There is plenty of room in Tallyban if you want to jump ship.

The ones who are quick to point out problems are the last to point out positives and never do usually. We have won 10 games in Mac's first two years...kinda cool huh? Yes 10 games because Im sure Presbyterian would have been a W. The east champions 2 yrs straight and in short order Mac has gotten us OL depth where none existed. Sure, we had some bad games....but do those folks not realize Spurrier's first year we lost to UT 45-3 allowing them 38 unanswered points?
Was Spurrier not a great coach? Damn straight he was.

People are impatient these days and the bitching is worse because they have no news and maybe it never occurred to them that Mac doesnt owe us inside info? The new hires? Remember that he said (and any coach worth his weight in salt would do the same) he will not announce anything until the coaches are through with their seasons. Heres a hint folks...Green Bay Packers are playing today and have an asst coach who is great at recruiting...could it be? Hmmm. I know one thing...he would turn recruiting upside down and inside out. If Packers lose to Atlanta today (and I think there is a good chance at that) we may find out who one of our hires is. Or maybe not. Two hires are probably coming from the NFL or one could be a college coach who is near the end of his contract etc etc. No matter what happens I firmly believe folks are going to be happy soon. Patience is a virtue.

It's absolutely ridiculous that we haven't gotten a commit from an OV this year.

I love this staff and I love Mac but he has got to fix this.

UF is either going to have a huge huge signing day or their worst class in modern history since these things started getting tracked.

We're going to have a huge signing day, but it is infuriating that we don't push guys to commit. There's no reason for James Robinson, Nick Smith, Chris Henderson, Brad Stewart, and Tedarrell Slaton to not be on our commit list right now.

And if we had all of those guys committed right now, like we should, our class would be ranked 9th right now and nobody would be bitching about our recruiting.

I think this class ends up fine, but it is so frustrating that we don't seem to have any sense of urgency in getting guys to pull the trigger and commit to UF

Ahh geez shitski dude...you are worrying rankings now? Who gives a flip. THE REASON we have so many silents committed right now is that if it were announced today those kids would be pestered to death by recruiting services, rival recruiters and classmates. We have at least 9 committed right now orally and Mac is being smart to prevent them from flipping away from us. Nobody wants to be patient...its so great before the fricking internet came along and ruined recruiting.

Mac is not going to pressure recruits to commit. Not his style or personality.

I don't expect this to change.
