What would be the bare minimum to get a national seed?

Would we have to sweep one of two out of Vandy and LSU and then sweep MSU? Or would winning two of three against both of them and sweeping MSU be enough?

I always get confused as to what is needed. I guess RPI is what throws me off.

I'd say 2/3 of LSU, Vandy, & State along with sweeping UGA would help our cause. But I honestly think we're out of national seed contention, we just need to concentrate on doing enough to host a regional best we can do imo.

I could not agree more with your entire post. Also, if we do not get a regional we'll either be headed to Virginia or NC State. If we manage to secure a regional, which we can definitely still do, then it will be loaded and we'll probably see Clemson again but at least we'll have a chance of stealing a super from either NC State or Virginia.

That's about right. Bottom line is we have to win the rest of the series and our mid-weeks. We might not have to sweep if teams ahead of us lose series (like LSU and Vandy obviously.) Being a national seed is awesome, but hosting the regional is really important too and in our case it's still a better than 50% chance.

It ain't gonna happen this year folks. Prepare to travel to Charlottesville or Raleigh for a Regional, if we're lucky.

I'm hoping for Tallahassee. What are the chances of that happening?

I've been hearing Chapel Hill. That was before last weekend though.

Tallahassee would be awesome though.

All the projections have us going to UNC/NCSU/FSU from what I've seen this season.

I just don't see them sending us South. A lot will depend on who qualifies south of us and who qualifies north of us but I just don't see them sending us south for a regional. A super regional, yeah, maybe, I dunno. Because if we went north, to Virginia or Raleigh chances are we'd be sent west for the super regional if we won the regional as a #2 seed.

Yea it seems that we likely will be on the road this post season tonight showed that, we really need to try & get a host for a regional we've been much better at home than we have been on the road this season, only 8-7 away from Carolina Stadium. And is it me or does it seem we play a lot worse on defense away from home, may just be GW & UF series fresh in my mind but.

I would love to go to Raleigh or Charlottesville. We would have a better shot there than in Chapel Hill, IMO.

Agreed, although by no means should we fear facing the tarholios at their place. Fawk them.

BTW, we were the home team last night. 4,800 in attendance and 4,000 of them were Gamecock fans.

We have issues, that's putting it mildly.

Inconsistent, lack of focus, swinging at first pitch in key situations when the guy before you just walked on 5 pitches, poor relief other than Westy and Webb (nicely put), stupid baserunning... I could go on and on.
