It was a surf and turf of sorts. Kangaroo and trout. I’ll be honest, I left pretty unimpressed. I’m a big culinary guy but I’m no a-hole. They’re meat selections are great, but god damned get someone in the kitchen who understands how to season it, make a solid semi glaze or complementary sauces. Everything I had was bland.

I buy fried gator in the liquor store parking lot in Georgetown. And that Nubian Michelangelo of Fried food boils it, soaks it in buttermilk and pepper over night, fries it and dashes it with old bay and hot sauce.

Damn I might need to make the drive up from Charleston today for that.

Best fried gator here is at the Marina Variety Store. Order the Bear Island (shrimp and grits with fried gator on top)
