So lets destoy our equestrian team, that has won nc, for a football program that hasn't?

I'm saying lets care less about being "well rounded" and more about being football only.

That equestrian NC probably cost us money.

But if we take away money from say, womens soccer and Equestrian, then they will no longer be amoung the nations best. Is it really worth it to destroy a few elite programs so that 1 program can be elite?

If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around does it make a noise?

I cannot believe that you would advocate destroying a few successful programs just to have the satisfaction of having an elite football program that is constantly ranked in the top 10 and adds the dates of the playoffs to its schedule that is printed and passed out yearly.

I would be fine with it also. Give all of the lower teams $1000.00 wish em luck and throw a hamburger dinner to them at end of the season. Take the rest and build a fricking Taj Mahal for football players only with central hvac for their corvettes they bought with the money that they found on the ground outside their house.

How much we fund other programs has no affect on football success. Florida succeeds in multiple sports because they are in Florida.

Sports, unfortunately, is a zero sum game. For every win, someone must lose. Everyone in the SEC is doing the same thing.

We can have long term success, maybe, by making a full commitment. Yet, haven’t we already done that? We did it under Spurrier and we are doing it under Muschamp. We are committing the resources. The only way we break out of the pack — given our demographic and historical disadvantages— is with getting lucky on having an exceptional coach. That is how Spurrier got us to 11 wins. The only real question — the only variable — is coaching. If as we all hope, Muschamp is the guy, then the only rational plan is to support him until he succeeds or proves he is unworthy. It’s thsy simple.
