I don't know if he was on our board, but take Thomas Brown off, he's going to Miami with Richt as RB Coach and Co-OC, that probably means we are in a much better spot to get BMac.

Saw that. Your nky worry is if Richt makes those two co-OCs.

He has an offer, but nothing is official. He's weighing his options. Now that Thomas Brown is leaving uga, I would expect them to make him an offer to stay.

Not official yet, but probable, unless Kirby offers him a position.....which is doubtful.

News may come today.

Very nice so McLendon to coach WRs, Washington to TEs & retaining Speronis.

Current staff as of (12/23):

Head Coach- Will Muschamp

Defensive Coordinator- Travaris Robinson

TBD- Ellis Johnson

Co-Offensive Coordinator- Kurt Roper

Co-Offensive Coordinator and Wide Recievers- Bryan McLendon

Tight Ends- Pat Washington

Oline- Shawn Elliot

Running Backs- Bobby Bentley

Special Teams Coordinator- Coleman Hutzler

Strength and Conditioning- Jeff Dillman

EDIT: Seems to me that Muschamp filling out the Offensive Staff before the defensive staff speaks to his desire to take extra time to make sure things go well on that side of the ball. This is encouraging I think.

Since SC and miami offered him the same titles, I wonder how the money worked out. I could see if we were even in $100K of them, he would still have to think about it. Miami is much more expensive to live in than Cola, SC. Although, we may have just told him we'll match whatever they do (or go above what they would,) and it would be a no-brainer.

He needed to stay close to home/family. That's why he didn't go to Miami.

Does he have a parent or close relative who's ill?

Two great hires in BMac and Washington.

I am shocked that Speronis was retained. He had already cleaned-out his office. He's not well liked ... he's a total egocentric prick and he is divisive. I don't get it.

I heard something like that. You just got a hell of a recruiter.

Now if we can close on LB Coach Lance Thompson (2008 Recruiter of the Year and a 2011 Finalist for Recruiter of the Year,) and a DL Coach, we'll be in business.

For the DL Coach, I'm still holding out hope for Brad Lawing, but Craig Kuligowski would be a good one too.

I was told we would never hire Ellis Johnson as a coach here again ... and we evidently have. I was told Jaime Speronis was history. I stood in his cleaned-out office just a few days before I left for Tennessee ... yet he is still here.

So I'm no longer saying "no way" for Brad Lawing. I hope we do get him back - it would be huge.
