From what I've read we are expanding the behind-the-scenes support staff and creating even more recruiting and player development support staff. This was a MUCH needed move for a while. Schools like bama and auburn had 3X's the size of support staff that we had last year.

Clyde Wrenn is hilarious, and he probably knows 95% of the people involved in athletics in the state of SC. I have met him several times, and he always has "rooser-like" stories to share.

... see my acronym. There is one yet to be signed but, if we get that one it'll be the biggest recruiting coup of the season.

I've known Clyde for 40 years. We even have the same cancer dermatologist that took meat off of our faces ... he referred me to them as a matter of fact.

Clyde is getting-on-up there, and some question keeping him around at his age and stage, but he can still be productive and he can still get us back through some doors and heal some old wounds. That's why he is on the staff.

That damn acronym, been scouring recruiting tidbits and trying to read between the linea, and still can't crack that sumbitch.

As long as he goes to the 50 yd line in Dung Valley and tells them all to suck it, I'll be fine with it. Then after the game Dabo gets pedigreed

Defensive Coordinator- Travaris Robinson

TBD- Ellis Johnson

Offensive Coordinator- Kurt Roper

Oline- Shawn Elliot

Running Backs- Bobby Bentley

Strength and Conditioning- Jeff Dillman

So it's important, some of the other positions that are being filled, like Robbie Liles, Clyde Wrenn, et al.

These days these new positions that are opening ... it's all part of the new way of doing things. Very very important stuff. Part of our new and improved recruiting budget. Worth noting as each position is filled.

He does have some great stories, not the least of which is how he tells how he ended-up going to Southern Miss with Ellis Johnson ... which last only one year.

He's got some great golfing stories as well - celebrity golf stories. He can get you on any course in South Carolina.

Rooster...

One of those H's Hyman? Holbrook? The R stand for Ray? The B for Boom? And the third H would be the dude we hired onto the football staff whose last name starts with an H..can't remember his name right now.

aTm 'bout to kick Hyman's arse to the curb.

Just figured out we're more than likely talking about coaches and recruiting and not actual recruits. Duh.

Probably why it's in the coaching search thread and not the recruiting thread. My common sense fails me...a lot.

Rocker is projected to be retained, but it's not a guarantee just yet, otherwise it would be official. Smart will eventually hire a DC, and when he does, that DC will have some input on staff choices and Smart knows that. Therefore he has to make that option available to the DC. So it's not a lock yet that Rocker will be retained.

McClendon will chose between OC at Miami or WR Coach (possibly Rec Coord too) at SC. We'll see how much money each school offers and what happens. Richt said he wants to start calling his own plays again

Rocker's staying at UGA unfortunately:

I'll take this as Smart doesn't trust his potential DC's enough to make quality hires. There is already dysfunction in their coaching offices.

That OC title will be tough to pull him away from, unless he and everyone knows that's only a OC title in name only and the money is about the same as we would pay for a WR Coach/ Possible Rec Coord. Also, living in Miami is a + but it's a lot more expensive than Columbia, SC so there are some Cost Of Living calculations that have to be determined with the salary comparisons as well.

Pretty sure y'all get Bmac. Don't think his family wants to go to Miami and pretty sure he wants to stay in SEC.

Richt was an awesome play caller. Not sure where you're coming from on this.
