Looks like we've got a strength & conditioning coach.

quote:

Alabama assistant strength coach and former Florida head strength and conditioning coach Jeff Dillman will join the South Carolina staff and will report to Columbia on Friday, TheBigSpur.com has learned.

Jeff Dillman was the S&C Coach at LSU in '03 under Saban when they won the BCS.

He was the S&C Coach at App State when they won the FCS Natty in '06 and '07.

B/w '09 and '11 he was the head of IMG Academy (football factory) in FL.

This guy is not only gong to get guys ripped, he could probably help us make some inroads into IMG.

Here's a look at some of the recruits that are coming out of IMG this year.

All the hate we are getting on the rant and coaching changes boards just reeks of fear to me.

I remain cautiously optimistic, but tons of posters (particularly those yankees) I think are starting to realize that Muschamp might just do a great job here.

I'm reserving judgement until after year 2. Unless we go to the playoff next year.

I think I called that a couple of days ago.

Auburn and FSU are fighting over Lawing. Is that still a possibility for USC?

Love to bring him home.

I would too ... and I'd be over there to shake his hand and welcome him home. Have known him well for years ... his first and second stint here. Got some great drinking stories I could tell.

But man ... I just don't see him returning. People keep telling me that the legal stuff has been taken care of ... but I dunno. I just don't see him returning unless we absolutely make such an offer that he cannot refuse.

ETA: And to be more specific, I think his current wife is the one that does not want him back here ... she does not want to return. I think that's the big reason why he will not, but who knows. Hell, I never thought they would retain Elliott from what I was hearing, although now I know why - but still. Who knows about Rumph or Lawing.

Don't think he's been contacted about it, Muschamp has been focusing on Rumph for the DLine spot.

Is that well documented somewhere?

Has Rumph come out publicly about it yet ... because you can bet he'll be the first to announce he has either taken, or turned-down, the job.

@EarlyGameBenji I played w Chris Rumph--coached HS in SC great recruiter @ Clemson Bama TX and now Florida. Be great addition to staff.

Kurt Murphy ?@murphyk12 Dec 9
We've heard rumors about Brad Lawing returning have you heard about Chris Rumph as a possibility? Thoughts? @Teddy_Heffner @pastorofpain

And the big rumor tonight is that Rumph is going to join Kirby Smart at UGA.

Although Rumph is still making some pretty high-profile visits to FSU prospects at the moment, and all day today.

Well ... evidently the bridges were too far gone, collapsed. This was his last chance.

I gotta admit, I'm relieved. We'll do fine without him, better than we would have done with him IMHO.

Watch Corey Miller make a big deal out of this.

So this is non-current staff related but thought it was interesting/hilarious. So apparently Brady Hoke has emerged as one of the top candidates at ECU & if he gets the job he's going to try and bring John Hoke, Spurrier Jr & Mangus on his staff.

That'd be an interesting matchup next year against ECU with those 3 on the other side of the field.

Yeesh. Poor Pirates.

A couple guys I know are ECU grads and they've legitimately said they're not going to any more games, or giving money, because they fired McNeill. Thought for sure ECU would be going after Riley.

Weird situation, I couldn't help but burst out laughing when I heard that news about potential Hoke staff. At least they'll have Mangus, wonder if he'll be the OC if it ends up happening.

If everyone will remember, when Skip Holtz was fired at SC he went to ECU and took several members of the old staff with him. They did okay, and he took them with him to USF where the flopped badly. I don't think he retained any of the old guys at La Tech, though I may be wrong.

It would not surprise me to see the Hokes and one or two of our staff end-up at ECU, there is precedent already set.

Maybe I was hallucinating it, but I could have sworn I saw something on twitter from ECU saying something about Gene Chizik being named their head coach?

Looks like Chizik is going to get the job.

If Elliott has beaten Tenn and Citadel, might have had a shot.

Kinda glad it turned out the way it did...seems Elliott is going to come in handy with keeping some of the recruits who were kinda iffy with the whole new hire deal.

And in other news...Jacksonville State Gamecocks are playing Charleston Southern tonight. Wonder of those Gamecocks will fare any better than we did against a team from Charleston?

It's now official that Shawn Elliott will stay on as USC's OLine Coach.

... and we're going to Nike which I alluded-to probably a month, or more, ago.

Under Armour fricked-up how they handled us after Spurrier resigned. They really screwed-up, playing politics with our apparel contract (and our money) in an effort to afford Maryland some kind of crazy upper-hand in the search process.

Bad business is gonna cost them. There will be further repercussions.
