Students getting into game debacle

Anybody know what the issue was with students getting into game. I have seen some videos but it looks like everyone was funnelled through the same gate.
With as many gates as there are at WB, it sounds like somebody's good idea was bad.

I have a cousin who is a sophomore at USC. She got to the gate about 30-35 mins before kickoff and didn’t get in until halfway thru the first quarter. She said some people were injured in the chaos, the metal detectors didn’t work, and some of the ticket scanners had issues. She didn’t really know what the root of it all was, but it was a disaster.

Sounds like they have over complicated the system. Do we even give out all the student tickets? I know we may have during spurrier or holtz but Mushchamp should have put us back to the sparky and fat brad days.
30 years ago every game was full and we managed to not get anyone hurt.
