I think after Clemson's haul with XT and KJ joining their already stacked D-line, they can probably afford to let Belk walk. Also doesn't look good for Clemson to block a transfer for an in-state kid who is an early enrollee

Only have 4 scholly dts now for the season with 2 going to be drafted after the season....de they are fine but dt is very thin...also all indications from Dabo were that he was progressing fine through the spring

Is it common practice for a lawyer to be involved in a player transfer?

Not that I know of and I reacted the same way. Makes you go hmmmmm.

FWIW it does appear that he intends to transfer here once the smoke has cleared but he's going to give it some time ... he's getting calls from other programs already.

Again, FWIW, something happened in a DM exchange (Twitter I think) with him (at least that's how it was explained to me) that made this person believe he definitely intends to transfer here to be closer to home and closer to his Mom.

Media people are reaching-out to him via Twitter DMs evidently and Belk is monitoring his Twitter account pretty closely right now ... communicating with certain people apparently, people that he knew from his original recruiting period.

Whatever the case may be, it looks like us. If he appealed for the unconditional release via his attorney based upon a hardship case, then it may look bad if he transfers to somewhere else that is further away from home than Clemson.

You have some inside info on Pickens, CG? I’m skeptical about him ending up here although signs are pointing to us at the moment.

There is some serious chatter out there that he was lied-to by his position coach up there about something ... and it wasn't the depth chart.

Something bad enough that an attorney was hired to make sure Clemson knew where the family was coming-from and possible repercussions if Clemson failed to grant an unconditional release. All done with the understanding that if everyone stayed cool everyone would come out of this no worse for wear.

Also, and who knows how true this is but it does make one wonder ... there is talk that the coaches up there had to quell a mini uprising that could have led to at least two others transferring poste haste.

Something happened. Would love to know exactly what it was without all the gossip and speculation ... but it was big enough that some of their big boosters got wind of it and were nervous.

At any rate, hopefully will will be the benefactor of Belk leaving and transferring here soon. If he enrolls in January he will be eligible to play in 2019 as a RSFr.

I posted about that on the SECR last week, but only because a friend of mine (Clem fan) mentioned it. Is it gaining more traction?

A lot of traction. My 2nd cousin is one of their biggest private donors. Talked to him this morning and it appears there's a lot of truth behind it and if he does go, it will also be unconditional. He was vague about the rest but did say there is a lot of restlessness and concern among the donors and administration as well as several other members of the fb team. Other things he said hinted at it being an issue with the NCAA and that the unconditional releases are basically not out of graciousness but bc they are worried some might spill their guts if the university gives them a hard time about transferring. I felt kinda-sorta bad bc I could barely control my laughter and he sounded like he was legit about to cry.
